The mst impactful thing that I learned cnsisted f hw t give back in the cmmunity and hw t manage my financials fr the upcming years. The mst impactful thing that I learned was jb searching skills because I have nt had t begin ding that yet, and nw I knw a lt f places t d s, what t lk fr, and hw t prepare fr the interview that ges alng with that. Hw t lead with the tls that yu already have. Yu need t embrace wh yu are and lead in a way that apprpriately [sp] represents yu. The mst impactful thing I learned in the last phases f CLA were hw my actins, leadership, and initiative affects the greater cmmunity and hw great f an influence I have n thers. This service leaning prject was truly an eye pening experience and I enjyed every secnd f it. The mst imprtant skill I develped is the ability t have prfessinal "netwrking" cnversatins. I feel cnfident enugh in my abilities t strike up cnversatins r make the first interactin with individuals I prbably wuld nt have befre CLA. I was able t realize that there are many different types f leaders and I am a leader in my wn way. I never thught f myself as a leader befre this class and I had a set idea f what a leader lks like and hw they act but this class made me realize there are s many different kinds f leaders. Be inclusive and keep an pen mind - The wrld is full f a diverse ppulatin f peple, wrk t better understand everyne! The mst imprtant skill that I have learned was hw t carry myself in a prfessinal manner and interact with thers prfessinally. I think this is imprtant because yu never knw wh yu are ging t meet and wh can help yu, s yu want t be n yur best behavir at all times and be respectful. I have grwn mre cnfident in my leadership skills in rder t take n larger rles in psitins and rganizatins n campus. CLA helped me becme a mre cnfident individual when taking n "real-wrld" tasks. It has helped me prepare fr life after cllege which I think a lt f students wh dn't take curses like CLA struggle with. $1,700 UI/Pmerantz Career Center pst-graduatin data suggests CLA students in their first jbs are averaging this amunt r mre ver thers in the same majr. Service Prjects and Cmmunity Partners Aided in CLA Curses Fall 2014 Table t Table Class partnered with this rganizatin t cnduct a fd drive in Iwa City, Cralville, and Nrth Liberty area. The cllected fd was delivered t the rganizatin s fd pantry and then the class cked and served a meal at the lcal shelter fr its guests. Hpe Ldge f Iwa City Class members built shelves, rganized, cleaned and inventried the rganizatins strage rm. The class als planted bulbs in the ldge s utdr garden fr the spring and hsted a meal and hliday mug decrating event fr guests. Rape Victim Advcacy Prgram f Iwa City Students cllabrated with this rganizatin t create a campaign titled: Hawks Can Stp It. They develped a scial media platfrm t reach ut t the campus cmmunity as well as helped the rganizatin re-define and re-write its missin statement. Updated 7/2/2015 pg. 13

14 Spring 2015 Big Brthers Big Sisters Class wrked with the Iwa City chapter t hst an event that paired current littles with new big partners. The event als educated the cmmunity abut the missin f the rganizatin and prmpted many t get invlved as vlunteers. Uptwn Bill s Keeping the Dream Alive Fundatin Class partnered with Uptwn Bill s Cffee Huse t hst an Abilities Awareness Entertainment Night. Numerus perfrmers entertained patrns, while als talking abut the imprtance f integrating peple with different abilities int every aspect f life. The event raised funds that will be used by the fundatin t keep the cffee shp running.
