PwerTeacher Pr Sectins and PwerTeacher Gradebk When a sectin has its Gradebk Type field set t PwerTeacher Pr: It can be pened in PwerTeacher Gradebk r PwerTeacher Pr PwerTeacher Gradebk will be read-nly fr the sectin, and will display a message "- - - This sectin is a read-nly PwerTeacher Pr sectin " If the teacher attempts t make a change t the sectin in PwerTeacher Gradebk, they will receive a message saying their rle des nt have permissin t make a change PwerTeacher Gradebk Sectins and PwerTeacher Pr When a sectin has its Gradebk Type field set t PwerTeacher Gradebk: It cannt be pened in PwerTeacher Pr The link t PwerTeacher Pr will nt appear under it in PwerTeacher It will be listed in PwerTeacher Pr, but attempting t select it will result in a message saying it is a "PwerTeacher Gradebk class" Migrating Data frm PwerTeacher Gradebk t PwerTeacher Pr When a teacher accesses a sectin with a Gradebk Type f PwerTeacher Pr and there are n assignments in PwerTeacher Pr, but there are assignments in PwerTeacher Gradebk, they will be prmpted with the ptin t migrate data fr their sectins frm PwerTeacher Gradebk t PwerTeacher Pr. This will clear the data frm PwerTeacher Gradebk and ppulate it in PwerTeacher Pr. Teachers can nly perfrm this migratin fr sectins they are teacher r c-teacher fr. 2 MISD PwerSchl Dcument Manual Transferring Data between Gradebks When assignments already exist in PwerTeacher Pr r d nt yet exist in PwerTeacher Gradebk, the teacher will nt be prmpted t migrate data and assignments and scres will need t be transferred manually. The teacher will need t recrd their assignments, scres, and final grade calculatin setup in the gradebk they are currently using; then pen the gradebk they want t migrate t and re-enter the data there. The general verview f the prcess is as fllws: 1. The teacher pens the sectin in the current type f gradebk they're using. 2. The teacher recrds all their infrmatin frm the sectin. They can d this via screen capture, writing the data dwn, running reprts, etc. 3. The admin changes the Gradebk Type f the sectin t the desired ne. 4. The teacher pens the sectin in the new gradebk. 5. The teacher manually re-ppulates the data in t the new gradebk. Enabling Admin Access t a Teacher s Gradebk PwerTeacher Gradebk (PTG) T add admin permissins t access PTG, yu will have t select a staff member > g t Security Settings > click n the Applicatins tab > checkbx t allw access t PwerTeacher Administratr. 3 MISD PwerSchl Dcument T launch PTG as an administratr, click n the link PT Administratr under applicatins Click n Administratin > Lcate the user accunt > click n + add grup t add permissins > click Update. Hver ver the Gradebk and select Administratr Lgin. Select yur Schl, Teacher, and click n Launch Gradebk. Launch the gradebk frm yur Dwnlads and fllw the prmpts n the screen. The gradebk will pen. PwerTeacher Pr (PTP) T add admin permissins t access PTP, yu will have t g t System>Rles Administratin>User Access. Yu can create a new rle specifically fr PTP r add it t an existing rle. Please Nte: In the example belw, we added it t the existing Administratr rle. Remember t click Submit. MISD PwerTeacher Gradebk t PwerTeacher Pr Page 3

4 MISD PwerSchl Dcument T give a user PTP Read Only Admin Access Start Page, make sure that yu are in yur apprpriate schl and/r District Office. Click n the Staff Tab. Type in the user s last name and then click the search buttn. Select that user. Click n Security Settings. Click n Admin Access and Rles. Click n the edit pencil next t the schl that yu want t give the permissins t. Yu will want t click n Use All Rles. Click n the User Access Rles that yu want t assign (Fr example: Administratr) and click OK. Click Submit. T give a grup f users PTP Read Only Admin Access Start Page, make sure that yu are in yur apprpriate schl and/r District Office. Click n the Staff Tab. Next, select yur grup frm the Start Page. (Fr example: Staff) Once a grup has been selected, yu can select Functins and then select Teachers By Hand (t narrw yur selectin) Once yu have yur selected staff, click n the Selectins buttn. Yu can stre yur selectin if yu wuld like frm this page (Stred Selectins). G back t the Start Page and click n Staff. Verify that yur current selectin matches the number f staff yu selected befre. 5 MISD PwerSchl Dcument Click n Mass Assign/Remve User Access Rles. Select the schls that yu want t grant permissins t access the PTP Admin launch. Select next and select the Rle yu added PTP access t (Fr example: We used Administratr.) Click OK. Click Assign. Yu will then get a ntificatin that will tell yu that the rles have been assigned t yur selected staff. G t Teacher Schedules > click n a teacher > click n the PwerTeacher Pr buttn Grade Scales Fr standards, PwerTeacher Pr uses grade scales instead f cnversin scales. As part f the PwerSchl 10 upgrade, cpies f cnversin scales have been created as grade scales and attached t the apprpriate standards. MISD PwerTeacher Gradebk t PwerTeacher Pr Page 5

6 MISD PwerSchl Dcument Be sure t review existing standards in PwerSchl and verify that the crrect grade scales are assciated t standards. If the grade scale differs frm the cnversin scale, the standard scres will be cnverted t the new grade scale and may nt reflect the riginal grade. Any new standards created fr a new year in PTG must be assigned a cnversin scale and grade scale that are als identical. This will ensure that any cnversin t PwerTeacher Pr maintains the same standard scres in assignments. If the scales d nt match, a cnversin will be applied. 7 MISD PwerSchl Dcument Aut-Calculate Assignment Standard Scres T create a new assignment that aut-calculates the standard scres, click +Create > Assignment > click n the Standards tab > Select the standards that crrespnd t yur assignment, click n Shw Selected Standards > check Aut-Calculate Assignment Standards Scres. Hw t set the default state fr the Aut-Calculate Assignment Standards Scres as checked, click n the Settings charm > select Display Settings > under Standards Usage > change the drp-dwn fr Aut-Calculate Assignment Standards Scres Initial State frm New Assignments Start Unchecked t New Assignments Start Checked. NOTE: It has been cnfirmed by PwerSchl that admin users are unable t mass update/imprt int this. MISD PwerTeacher Gradebk t PwerTeacher Pr Page 7

8 MISD PwerSchl Dcument Ht Keys T navigate t the Ht Keys list, click n the questin mark > select Tips and Tricks >click n the blue Ht Keys link t display mre infrmatin. T See Mre Students n a Page in PwerTeacher Pr. Click n Small View. If a different view is selected, yur preference will be stred/saved. MISD PwerTeacher Gradebk t PwerTeacher Pr Page 8

9 MISD PwerSchl Dcument Categries: Hw t create a categry at the district level. Frm the District ffice > g t District > select PwerTeacher Pr Settings under grading > select District Categries fr Teachers > frm here yu can re-rder r add a categry. NOTE: Categries will be useful when it cmes t districts that have t reprt fr PERIS submissins. The Und Buttn in the scre inspectr On the Scresheet, select a final grade fr a student. When lking at the Scre Inspectr t the right, yu may ntice a buttn similar t the ne abve. If the buttn is gray, the final grade has nt been manually verridden. Als, yu might see a small gray triangle in the tp-left crner f the grade bx if the final grade has been verridden. Select the Und buttn t revert t the riginal calculated grade.
