Wrk (5% f yur grade) The gal f ur time in class is t cmplete practice prblems and exercises t gain understanding and fluency when slving algebraic prblems. There will be ample amunts f time alltted fr practice, if students d nt use their time wisely the result will be hmewrk. The grade fr practice/hmewrk will be based n participatin, risk taking, questining, and the students ability t preserve and slve prblems. There will be sme assignments and prjects that will be cmpleted in class. Thse will be graded based n participatin, cmpleteness and crrectness. When apprpriate a rubric will be prvided. Pearsn On-line hmewrk g t: mymathlab.cm Register as a student (if yu have never had a class in Pearsn Online ) Enrll in my class: prctr89764 Hmewrk will regularly be assigned in this prgram. Ntebk/Binder Ntebks will be checked at the end f each unit. Yu are required t have a 3 ring binder divided int 3 sectins fr this class. An rganized binder with a class wrk/ntes sectin, hmewrk sectin, and an assessments sectin is required and will be checked fr cmpleteness n test days. When I check yur binder I will be lking at yur verall cntent (are ntes/quizzes/tests present), is yur wrk fr yur yur hmewrk there and rganizatin (is everything labeled and easy t find). 2. Assessments-Test/Quizzes/Mastery Assignments (85% f yur grade) Quizzes- Quizzes will be given frequently thrughut the semester in rder t measure students understanding f the material. Tests- There will be a test at the end f each unit. Tests will include material frm earlier units as well. Mastery Assignments Students will be given a Mastery Assignment (quiz). The Mastery Assignments are based n the essential skills that are required fr the student t be successful at the next level f their mathematical career. The math department has cllabrated t determine which skills are essential at each level. Mastery Assignments are assessments that students take that are fcused n specific skills.
