1 Web Version Update preferences Unsubscribe Like Tweet Forward Enable Leisure & Culture Sports Club Development and Funding Newsletter April 2016 Wimbledon Foundation Get Set Get Active Fund Club Development and Coach Education Courses in May London Sport Funding update for April & May 2016 Get Active Wandsworth Festival 2016 London Youth Games 2016 Trial Dates Wimbledon Foundation Get Set Get Active Fund WIMBLEDON FOUNDATION GET SET, GET ACTIVE FUND Just a quick reminder that this new funding iopportunity closes in just over three weeks on Tuesday 17th May The Get Set, Get Active Fund aims to help people of all ages and abilities to take part in physical or sports activities in their community.local groups and clubs active in the boroughs of Merton and Wandsworth can apply for grants ranging from 500 up to 2,500 towards the costs of direct sports or physical activity provision including equipment and kits, coaching fees and venue hire. Applications are encouraged from groups which tackle social problems and help people facing disadvantages to improve their quality of life. This seminar will help you put together a

2 simple yet effective business plan for your club to help you plan a brighter future and take real steps to reach your goals. We'll be covering the new Youth Insights reseach from Sport England, the Club Matters resource package available for club, Social Media strayegy and funding information from Active Wandsworth and the Wandsworth Grant Fund. This course is for coaches working with young people and vulnerable adults and is the minimum standards asked for by governing bodies.at the end of the course you will be able to: identify and recognise good coaching practice and the implications for your coaching explore your values and feelings in relation to child abuse, and recognise their potential impact on your response recognise and respond to possible signs of child abuse take appropriate action if concerns about a child arise. 3 Get Active Wandsworth Festival 2016 This year's Festival is taking place on Saturday 9th July at King Georges Park Wandswork and we'd like as many clubs as possible to be part of it. This is your opportunity to show off your club and it's activities to over 8000 members of the public. That's 8000 potential new members for you to win over to join your club. I've included a few photos below from last years Festival to give you a flavour of the day. 4 The London Youth Games is the largest sports event for young people in Europe. Each London Borough enters a team into 40 sports that take place between now and a finals weekend in July. Trials for all the Wandsworth teams are listed below and open young people who either lives or goes to school in Wandsworth.Please check the age catagory next to the sport you're interested in. Wandsworth have won the Lonodn Youth Games Overall Trophey for the past three years so if you looking to be part of the winning team get your self along to one of the trials mentioned below.
