2 Fall Play Brief description: A full-length theatre production in the Lakeshore auditorium. Requirements to join: Auditions are held, then rigorous rehearsals for two months prior to the show. Meeting information: Auditions will be advertised in advance, once the cast list is announced, rehearsals will be at least three times per week. But attendance will be based on character/role. Advisors: Ms. Sloan, Mr. Milligan SADD Brief description: The SADD Chapter will help provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to prevent destructive decisions. SADD members will be involved with helping to deliver education and prevention messages to their peers through school and community wide activities and campaigns. Meeting information: First Monday of every month in room 120 before school. 3 Yearbook/Driftwood Academic Boosters Brief description: Members work to create the yearbook by practicing skills in journalism, photography, business sales, and public relations. Requirements to join: Students must complete application to be in the yearbook class. It is open to juniors and seniors. Meeting information: While Yearbook is a class period during the school day, they will occasionally meet after school. They are also required to attend the events that they are in charge of covering. Advisor: Mrs. Caid Brief description: Academic Boosters help support teachers recognize academic achievement. They deliver monthly nomination forms to teachers and certificates for those nominees. Requirements to join: Come to first organizational meeting in September, meet deadlines, and be self-directed. Meeting information: Meetings are in room 130. Information is communicated through electronic reminders after the first meeting in September. Advisor: Mrs. Woodard Academic Challenge Brief description: Quiz bowl teams compete against area schools at a local radio station. All who attend weekly practices are on the team. Top members will be the ones who are in the competition. Meeting information: Monday afternoons in room 240. There will be no announcements after the first few practices. Competitions are on Wednesday evenings. Advisor: Ms. Sloan

4 Art Club Brief description: We are a group of laid back artists and/or aspiring artists that meet to do a variety of art projects with a variety of mediums i.e. drawing, painting, ceramics, etc. while we enjoy light snacks and refreshments Meeting information: Meetings are twice a month on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in room 149. (see the 1st semester schedule in the display case) Advisor: Mrs. Davis DECA (a marketing management club) Brief description: Members participate in marketing competitions, community service, fundraisers, various leadership conferences and help with school functions. Requirements to join: Enrollment in a marketing class Meeting information: TBD Advisor: Mrs. Jahnke Key Club Brief description: Key Club is a student-led service organization which is involved with a variety of service activities in the community. Members are required to attend weekly meetings and to complete service hours throughout the year. Requirements to join: Open to all students. Membership requires you to fill out an application and pay dues to our International Organization. Enrollment is only open in September! Meeting information: Meets every Thursday morning at 7:15 am in the auditorium. National Honor Society Brief description: NHS is a nationally recognized service & academic organization. Prestigious colleges will generally expect membership from applicants. Members meet monthly & fulfill service requirements in order to maintain membership. A minimum GPA of 3.5 also must be maintained. Requirements to join: Students with a 3.5 GPA will be invited to apply for membership their junior year. Applications are reviewed by a committee, and selected applicants are invited to join. Meeting information: via and school announcements. Advisors: Mrs. Woodard and Mrs. Kelly Advisor: Mrs. Sloan

5 Interact Club Drama Club Brief description: The carries out hands-on service projects in the community, makes international connections, and collaborates with St. Joe, LMC, and Bridgman Interact Clubs Requirements to join: Anyone can join Meeting Information: Bi-weekly, before school in the cafeteria, dates TBD Advisor: Mr. Scaletta Brief description: Check announcements for when auditions will be held Meeting information: TBD Advisor: Mr. Ring GSA Brief description: An organization that empowers and trains young leaders to advocate, organize and mobilize and intersectional movement for safer schools and healthier communities. Ping Pong Club Brief description: Members get together in the student lounge to play ping pong/table tennis once a week after school. It s very casual. Students and sometimes parents show up to play when they can. Requirements to join: None all students are welcome Meeting information: The GSA will be a largely student-led organization with monthly meetings. Topics addressed will be suggested by students, and include information to help all student advocates. Meeting information: Once a week, after school from December to the first week of March. 6 International Club Robotics Team Brief description: International Club works to celebrate and to promote the understanding of diverse cultures, languages, and heritages in our school, the local community, and beyond. We support Lakeshore s language programs and plan activities to highlight Hispanic month in September, German week in October, and French week in November. We take one field trip as a culminating experience. Past field trips have included the National Museum of Mexican Art and walking mural tour in the Pilsen neighborhood, the Christmas Around the World exhibit at The Museum of Science and Industry, the Flamenco Show at the Don Quijote Restaurant in Valparaiso, the Kriskindlmarkt at Daley Plaza, the French impressionist collection at the Chicago Art Institute and more! Brief description: The team works together with a variety of skill-sets to design components, build robots, write programs, maintain our websites, and raise awareness for the team. The competition season starts in January and runs through April. Requirements to join: Anyone can join Meeting Information: Evenings, starting in September in the robotics room, room 158. Meeting information: Monthly meetings are held on Wednesdays at 3:00 pm in room 112, or where indicated on the announcements. Advisor: Sra. Baker, Sra. Plichta Brief description: The Lakeshore Republican Club members believe in conservative principles and values that our country was founded on. Members get to hear from the various elected officials in our area (State Senators, State Representatives, Congressmen, etc.). We work on campaigns and attend local Republican events. The club gives you the opportunity to meet new people, make important connections, and get involved in the American political system. 7 School Musical Science Olympiad Brief description: Students who are involved work to put on a full-length production that will then be played for the public usually in the spring. Requirements to join: Auditions. Meeting information: Check announcements for when auditions will be held. Brief description: This is a group of students who compete against all of the other high schools in Berrien County in 25 science, math, and engineering events. The events range from chemistry, physics, biology, robotics, engineering, and include hands-on applications of those subjects. Requirements to join: Anyone with a love or interest in science, math, or engineering can join. Advisor: Miss Rohwer Meeting information: Meetings start in October and are usually every 2-3 weeks until March. Advisor: Mr. Chorny Electric Car Club Student Council Brief description: The goal is to build the fastest electric car in the world. We build the car and then race in various competitions around the state. We need students with various interest areas such as engineering, pit crew, and drivers. Come check us out! Requirements to join: All students are welcome! Meeting information: Meet once a week from 6:00-9:00 PM. Watch for announcements and flyers about meeting information. Brief description: Members work to put on various school events, including Homecoming, WinterFest, Pep Assemblies, Blood Drive, and other school sponsored activities.
