1 APRIL HUSKY OF THE MONTH For the month of April we focused on perseverance. Perseverance means to keep trying even when something is difficult. This student has consistently shown perseverance without frustration not only in the month of April, but throughout the school year. He always tries his best with each assignment given to him and takes his time to work through and learn the parts that he doesn t understand. He doesn t get upset when he has to fix up his mistakes because he takes pride in a job well done. Our elementary Husky of the Month is a kindergarten student. Congratulations to Shane Chelack! Being polite was the attribute chosen for our grade 5-8 Husky of the Month. Our choice is a student who is respectful and considerate of others. This student is always well mannered and courteous to everyone. When he approaches a teacher, he waits patiently to be acknowledged and always thanks those who help him. He recognizes the value of treating others with respect and we look forward to watching him in his first drama performance. Our April Husky of the Month is Brody Cormack. The winner of the senior Husky of the Month is a student that has admirable traits. He has a good attendance record, he works hard, he gets caught up in his homework and is just an all around good guy. He also demonstrates the trait of the month ; this trait is politeness. This student often says please and thank you, he will often offer to wait so someone else can go first or go to the front of the line and he is usually smiling and has an easy going nature about him. Congratulations to April s Husky of the Month, Tyson Luby.

2 EASTER On April 13 th, the grade ones and twos decorated eggs together for Easter and had a great time doing it!

3 AUTISM AWARENESS The kindergartens and grade twos got together on Wednesday April 26 th in the afternoon to learn about Autism. We then did a project on our hallway bulletin board to help promote Autism awareness.

4 JUNIOR BADMINTON Junior badminton consisted of two programs this year, competitive and developmental. The following students took part in the competitive league: Colby Gampe, Joshua Gampe, Joelle Koenning, Julia Koenning, Kaden Kohle, Taylor Luby, Kayden Malmgren, Erin Medernach, Tanner Medernach, Taylor Medernach, Kyle Palchinski, Colby Reaser, Adam Schlosser, and Sam Yorke. They competed against the communities of Bellevue, Middle Lake, Viscount, and Wakaw. The junior developmental participants included Nicholas Fiolleau, Kaitlynn Gampe, Nicole Hackl, Ryder Hein, Gavin Lucyshyn, Carsen Packet, Justin Richardson, and Luke Schlosser. The developmental league played home and away games with Wakaw. Representatives for each category participated in pre-districts in Wakaw on Thursday April 28 th. Girls singles was Taylor Medernach. Girls doubles were Taylor Luby and Erin Medernach. Mixed doubles were Joelle Koenning and Kayden Malmgren and Julia Koenning and Sam Yorke. Boys singles were Tanner Medernach and Adam Schlosser. Boys doubles were Colby Gampe and Colby Reaser and Kaden Kohle and Kyle Palchinski. Cudworth School hosted districts for girls and boys doubles on May 4 th. Kaden and Kyle represented our school by having placed first at pre-districts. They finished the tournament in 2 nd place losing to a very strong Annaheim team. 5 Senior Badminton Another successful season of Senior Badminton has ended. The team consisted of the following members: Girls Doubles: Girls Singles: Mixed Doubles: Boys Doubles: Boys Singles: Madison Palchinski and Raelyn Guenther Jenna Medernach Jordan Richardson and Emily Medernach Noah Schwark and Jarod Becker Tyson Luby and Anthony Huslage Landon Kohle Steven van der Gracht The teams played in the Northwest Horizon League and then competed in predistricts on April 25 th and 26 th. From there, we had two teams advance to districts which were held on April 29 th in Foam Lake. Jenna Medernach placed third in her pool and our doubles team, Noah and Jarod, placed second in their pool. The boys went on to compete in district playoffs and placed fourth. Great job to everyone who participated in badminton this year.

6 HOCKEY NEWS Congratulations to Kaden Kohle! He was selected 12 th overall in the Western Hockey League s Bantam Draft. Kaden was picked by the Tri-City Americans who are located in Kennewick, Washington which is approximately 3 hours south of Seattle. Being a first round selection is a huge accomplishment and everyone at Cudworth School is very proud of Kaden. Congratulations Kaden and good luck in your hockey career!!!!!!

7 The Senior SRC is hosting a school / community BBQ on Monday, May 15 at 12:00 12:45. Everyone is welcome, food will be served in the same format as at Play Day, (outside served from the staff room window). Burgers $3.00 Cheeseburgers $3.50 Double cheeseburger $4.50 Hot dogs $2.00 Juice box.50 Also on Monday, May 15 at 1:00 the Senior SRC presents Hypnotist Corrie J in our school gym. This presentation is open to the public as well: $5.00 admission for community members. Please share this information with friends and relatives. See you Monday, May 15 The Grad Class will be offering popcorn each Wednesday starting May 10. Popcorn is $2.00 a bag. The popcorn is sold from 12:10 12:30.

8 Corrie J has been a presenter at the annual Saskatchewan Leadership Conference which Cudworth students have attended and have seen his presentations. Corrie J works regularly with schools and youth and is a trusted name in this genre of entertainment. Hypnotist Corrie J has one motto: Make all shows safe, clean fun for audience and participants alike. So many hypnotism shows are not based on fun that the whole family can enjoy, nor are they necessarily safe for any event and venue. Hypnotist Corrie J saw that as a problem in his industry, and set out to change it. Combining his love to entertain with a passion for hypnosis, Corrie J created a safe, comedy hypnosis show that respects the audience and respects the power of hypnosis. Corrie J is also a registered hypnotherapist, providing assistance for those looking to overcome challenges in their life, including addictions and injury.
