I m sure high on everyone s list is family, friends and health. I know we are all thankful for three days off next week! Be thankful for your personal talents that touch people around you every day. This is what defines you and makes you an extraordinary person the gift of patience, empathy, contemplation, talent, caring and so forth. You are all on my list of what I m thankful for. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with a dedicated staff and families in Creston's community, as well as throughout Warren Township. CORE...Civility, Order, Respect, Excellence This weekend is the start of Warren's annual Treefest! Our very own CIA choir, under the direction of Mrs. Schurger, will be performing on stage at the Warren Central Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 1:00. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for seniors and students. Please come support our choir!

3 CIA S ANNUAL CANNED FOOD DRIVE The Student Council is sponsoring a school wide food drive for Thanksgiving to help families in need. Please bring canned good, boxed food and/or non parishable items to donate. The drive will run from Monday, November 14th -Tuesday, November 22nd. Thank you!

4 Warren Township celebrated American Education week on this past Tuesday, November 15th at Warren Central/Walker Career Center for our STEAM Night. Steven Webb and Jason Wagner s STEM and Robotics students demonstrated their interactive activities.

6 Student Pick-Up In order to help with the student pick-up process Please send in a note to let us know when students will be leaving for doctor s appointments and/or just an early dismissal. Prior notice will allow the teachers time to have them prepared to leave once properly signed out. Should you need to pick up your student early without notice being given, please arrive early enough to allow us time to call student s down once you have arrived. Thanks! Lobby Guard Visitor Management System Last school year the Creston office started signing visitors in and out using Lobby Guard. Please remember to have a valid I.D. with you to gain entrance to our school. After you scan your I.D. at the Lobby Guard kiosk located at the main entrance, a visitor s badge will be generated. EMERGENCY INFORMATION All student s were given emergency sheets to update at the beginning of the school year. For the safety of your child, it s important that the school has current information and phone numbers on file at all times. Phone numbers can be updated by sending in a note to give to the office. However, address updates must show proof with the Registrar Mrs. Taylor@ ext Should any emergency arise, this allows parent/guardian contact to be made in a timely manner. Thanks so much! GUEST TEACHERS AND BUS DRIVERS NEEDED... Warren Township schools are looking for classroom guest teachers for the school year. Classroom guest teachers, also referred to as substitute teachers, work a 7 1/2 hour day with a 30 minute lunch. Classroom guest teachers are paid $72 a day and are eligible for a $100 bonus after completing twenty classroom assignments. With 18 schools, and over 600 classrooms in the district, there are ample opportunities for being assigned to a classroom on a daily basis. 8 HUMAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT VIDEOS Parent preview dates for the Human Growth and Development videos will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12th at Grassy Creek Elementary for Grade 4 parents, East Prospect St. and on Thursday, January 19th at Creston Intermediate Academy for Grades 5 and 6 parents, E. Prospect St. at 6:30 p.m. These videos will be shown separately to present fourth and fifth grade boys and girls. Sixth grade students will participate in a program led by personnel from the Social Health Association of Indiana. Following the showing of the videos at both the adult previews and the pupil programs, discussion will be led by personnel from Social Health. Parents are encouraged to attend one of the parent preview nights. Fourth grade boys will see Just Around the Corner for Boys and fourth grade girls will see Just Around the Corner for Girls. Fifth grade boys will see We re Growing Up, and fifth grade girls will see We re Growing Up. If you do not want your child to participate, please send a note prior to the date of the presentation indicating your request.
