WCAC welcomes your ideas and support as it continues to take the lead in bringing together the community's art organizations to strengthen our region's arts culture. 2 Exhibits continue through July 28, 2015: "Perspective: Photographic Images by John Kuhn" and "Watercolors by Shari Kuhn". Two exhibits open at the Washington County Arts Council on July 31, 2015 and run through August 25, "Kate Keely: Natural Apparitions" and "Tom Harple: Creations in Wood". The Washington County Arts Council will host an opening reception at the Gallery at 34 South Potomac Street, in downtown Hagerstown on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 5 pm until 7 pm. Music by the Lake presented by the City of Hagerstown and the Washington County Arts Council!

6 CLASSICAL MYSTERY TOUR: A TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES RETURNS TO THE MARYLAND THEATRE WITH THE MARYLAND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERT FEATURES DOZENS OF BEATLES SONGS-- PERFORMED EXACTLY AS THEY WERE RECORDED Tickets are now on sale for the Classical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to The Beatles concert with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, September 19, 8:00 p.m. at the historic Maryland Theatre in downtown Hagerstown. Tickets may be purchased online at in person at 30 W. Washington Street, Hagerstown or by calling , Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Congratulations Corey Householder, the 2015 Blues Fest Poster Artist, who has been commissioned to design the covers of all three of Cindy Garland's novels coming soon from Cressen Books LLC. Corey is a graduate of the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts in Hagerstown, MD. He was selected to provide the original design for this year's 20th Annual Western MD Blues Fest art that appeared in publications across the country, on t-shirts and posters. You can see photos of his Blues Festart on the Washington County Arts Council's Facebook page.

WCAC CAD 2015 End of Year Report is available...click HERE Due date: July 31, 2015 WCAC CAD 2016 Grant Application and Guidelines are available...click HERE Due date: July 31, 2015 For information contact Mary Anne Burke, Executive Director or Duende Quartet Sunday, August 2, 2015 Washington County Museum of Fine Arts The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will present the Duende Quartet in concert on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. Seating for the performance is limited to 100. Seating will begin at 1:45 p.m. This is a ticketed event, $10.00 general admission and free for museum members and children 12 and under. Museum membership is open to all. The concert is sponsored in part by the Maryland State Arts Council Touring Grant. The Duende Quartet is devoted to playing Latin Jazz with a respect for the tradition while looking toward the future. In a unique small group setting (piano, bass and two hand percussionists), Duende Quartet captures the vibe of the jazz combo while using the rhythms of a Cuban conjunto. Duende has a vast repertoire ranging from traditional Cuban songs to modern Jazz compositions.
