I hope all of our families had a relaxing and peaceful break away from the normal school routine. I must admit my household was very excited with Richmond winning the 2017 Grand Final. I hope you all had the chance to be with one another over the two weeks. Term Four always shapes up as very busy with children completing set work requirements and beginning to prepare for the next year. In Term Four children will receive a final year School Report, an Assessment Folder and Parent and Teacher Interviews will also be held towards the end of the year. This term we welcome back Janet Luscombe from her Pilgrimage to the Holy Land and long service leave and also to Ness Power who will be overseeing our Art Program for Term Four. Please note that we move into our Summer Uniform which includes a hat. It is important that the uniform is worn correctly. Students wear their sports uniform on a Wednesday and on any other nominated day by the classroom teachers. Please make sure your child/ren are wearing the correct socks with the uniform as brand named socks (for example Nike) are not part of the attire. Your support with this is much appreciated. Tonight is the St Mary s Art Exhibition commencing at 7pm in the Parish Hall. Class Pieces will be auctioned off on this night as well as individual artwork from each child that will be displayed. A selection of cheese and meats are provided as well as drinks upon request. If you are able please come and support the Parents and Friends and teachers who always put in many hours preparing for the occasion. The Family Exhibition is on Sunday, 15th October between 10am-2pm. Student Art Pieces are available for purchasing on this day. It must be said that the artwork is of fantastic standard and the children need to be congratulated for listening and spending time to create lovely artwork. The first Term Four Parent Communication Meeting will be held on Thursday, 9th November at 9am in the library and repeated again at 5pm. The agenda will be as follows: End of year reporting and interviews 2018 Administration Term Testing Days 2018 School Fete Question Time We have had excellent attendance at these meetings this year and the reason behind them is to simply make myself available to families so we can support one another. 2 School Fees: Due date for next payment is: 3rd Instalment by 27th October nd Instalment was due on 4th August if you have outstanding fees from this instalment please pay by EFT as soon as possible. Details are on your Fee Statements that were sent home this Term. Thankyou to those families who have been prompt with their School Fee payments so far. P & F Living Fundraiser: A goodie bag consisting of herbs and Christmas cards will be sent home to each family next week. Each goodie bag will now contains 5 herb growing kits and 5 packs of Christmas cards. Please note quantity of goodie bags have been reduced. Summer Uniform: St. Mary's School takes pride in its official uniform. It has been established over many years and is recognised as an economical and practical code of dress. The school uniform identifies students as members of the St. Mary s School Community. The children are encouraged to wear their uniform with pride, and behave in a manner which reflects creditably on themselves, their families and their school. Parents are required to ensure that the full uniform is worn at all times. Beginning Week 3 these students will be setting up their student accounts to enable them to use Google Drive. One of the benefits of using Google Drive will be that students will be learning how to work collaboratively on projects with each other and their teachers. We are also very excited that we are currently working towards gaining our accreditation as an Allanah and Madeline Foundation esmart School. We would like people to donate their clean old and odd socks. In Week 2 of Term 4, all students will be invited to bring $1 to make a sock puppet. Hats are compulsory at St Mary s Maffra from 9th October 2017 to 30th April 2018 The Social Justice team will assist everyone who wants to make a puppet when it is their turn. Cards with petitions / names of those seeking healing collected into basket. Rosary begins Luminous mysteries offered for: 1 st Mystery Those who are alone, bereaved or don t believe in God. 2 nd Mystery Those who suffer spiritual and mental illness or addiction. 3 rd Mystery Those who have cancer or untreatable / terminal illness. 4 th Mystery Those who have severe disability of any sort. 5thMystery Those who suffer from any other afflictions or who have any special need. 9.20am: Enter church. Happenings of the Great Fatima Miracle are read out. 9.30: Mass Begins. All names prayed for are placed in baskets and brought forward at offertory procession. During Mass, prayers are offered for the World : Cuppa in church grounds. Option to view family Movie about the Fatima visions and Miracle IN PRESBYTERY DINING ROOM.
