It sees the 2017 Number 1 AIC volleyball school (Iona) and cricket school (Ashgrove) up against each other. Our young AFL teams will see their first action of the year and sailing Fleet and Team racing begins. Our swim squad hosts Villanova and interhouse year level swim meets will involve many. Key action: Yura: Be welcoming of all visitors to our college and post match war cry win lose draw to celebrate 60 years of Iona sport. Last week saw our younger swimmers perform well at a St Peters meet. Cricket was rain affected and volleyball was keenly contested at A level. Our B/C/D volleyball teams displayed plenty of the required determination. 4 Every student in Years 5, 6 and 7 will be sent an this week detailing upcoming trials for Term 1 sports. These include Basketball, Rugby League, AFL and Football (Soccer). We are very limited by how many we can send to each activity, normally 4/5 per trial. Preference will be given to students who have participated at the Regional level in previous years, students who represent Iona in an A team and students who are in their last year of eligibility for Lytton sport. Students will need to fill out an online nomination form and the college will select boys to go the trials based on the information provided and through feedback of coaches and coordinators. If a student is successful in gaining selection to go to a trial they will receive paper work that must be filled in, signed and returned to Mr Pritchard.
