Celebratory events will be conducted throughout the year to commemorate 100 years of educational excellence at Pymble and to reflect on our magnificent history and heritage.

2 The College Centenary is a historic moment in the life of Pymble will be a wonderful year of celebration and we invite members of the Pymble community to join the excitement of our 100th anniversary. Celebratory events will be conducted throughout the year to commemorate 100 years of educational excellence at Pymble and to reflect on our magnificent history and heritage. A century ago our founding Principal, Dr John Marden, strongly believed health and wellbeing were vital to every girl reaching her potential. He was an educator and leader ahead of his time and our Centenary in part acknowledges Dr Marden s vision. A century later Pymble has continued Dr Marden s vision of providing an education that offers extraordinary opportunities for girls and young women. During the past 99 years, Pymble students have graduated with confidence and maturity to embrace the challenges that lie beyond the College gates. We have many fabulous events planned for our Centenary. I invite you to view the events showcased in this brochure and join us in celebrating 100 years of excellence at Pymble. 3 Term 1 MONDAY 8 FEBRUARY Foundation Day Where: Gloucester Lawn Time: 9.30am 10.30am Foundation Day marks the 100th anniversary of the College. Today students and staff from Kindergarten to Year 12 will come together to celebrate the Centenary of the College and 100 years of educational excellence at Pymble. WEDNESDAY 17 FEBRUARY Foundation Day Pupils Centenary Lunch Where: Heritage Centre Time: 12.00pm 2.30pm The Foundation Day Centenary Lunch is a celebration for relatives of the 60 foundation pupils who started at the College on 8 February FRIDAY 19 FEBRUARY Icebreaker Where: Gloucester Lawn Cost: $40.00 per person Time: 7.00pm 9.00pm The Icebreaker provides the Pymble community with the opportunity to meet new and current parents and is always a wonderful evening enjoyed by all. The Pymble Parent Association will host this special evening. Current Parents TUESDAY 8 MARCH International Women s Day Where: Senior School Centre Time: 9.20am 10.20am International Women s Day acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of women. To celebrate 100 years of women s achievements, ex-students will return to Pymble to share their experiences and provide inspiration for our Senior students. SUNDAY 13 MARCH Centenary Chapel Service Where: Pymble Ladies College War Memorial Chapel Time: 9.00am 10.00am A special Chapel Service is planned to celebrate the Centenary of the College. The service will be conducted by the College Chaplain, Reverend Lorenzo Rodriguez Torres. WEDNESDAY 16 MARCH Reunion for Ingleholme Where: Ingleholme, Turramurra Cost: $60.00 per person Time: 2.00pm 4.30pm A very special event for ex-students and staff who attended Ingleholme, which is now a private home and is being opened especially for this Centenary event. Private tours will be held throughout the afternoon. Booking for this event is essential as there are limited places available. FRIDAY 8 APRIL Centenary Precinct Opening Where: Centenary Precinct Time: 9.30am 10.30am The Centenary Precinct is a significant capital works project and is a fitting commemoration of our College s 100 year celebrations in The Centenary Precinct will establish Pymble s new Aquatic and Fitness Centre, learn-to-swim pool, and redevelopment of the Mollie Dive Field which will provide extensive underground parking. This very special event will be the official opening of the Centenary Precinct.

4 Term 2 SUNDAY 19 JUNE Centenary Gala Concert Where: Sydney Opera House Cost: Adult $65.00 Child $50.00 Time: 5.30pm 8.00pm A showcase of Pymble talent celebrating 100 wonderful years of music at Pymble in the magnificent Sydney Opera House. The concert includes a specially commissioned work by Australian composer, Luke Byrne. Bookings are essential for this special Centenary event. SATURDAY 2 SUNDAY 3 JULY Centenary Back to Boarding Weekend Where: Pymble Boarding Houses Cost: $ per person Time: 11.30am Saturday 2 July Return to Pymble and join in the fun for our Back to Boarding Weekend. Sleep over, enjoy a cocktail and share memories during this special weekend. The Centenary Back to Boarding Weekend will include the Commemoration Day Chapel Service and Centenary Luncheon. SUNDAY 3 JULY Commemoration Day Service and Centenary Luncheon Where: Pymble Ladies College War Memorial Chapel and Main Hall Cost: Lunch $55.00 per person Time: Chapel Service 10.30am 11.30am Lunch 12.00pm 3.30pm This service is held every year to commemorate the Dedication of the College in The Chapel Service will be followed by a Centenary Luncheon for ex-students.

FRIDAY 19 SUNDAY 21 AUGUST alumnow Centenary Art Exhibition Where: Gillian Moore Centre for Performing Arts (GMCPA) and the Music Gallery Official Opening Champagne and Canapés Friday 19 August Cost: $25.00 per person Time: 6.30pm 8.30pm Exhibition Open All Weekend Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August Time: 10.00am 4.00pm Exhibition and Sale of fine arts by Pymble, including ceramics, paintings, sculpture, photography and jewellery. SATURDAY 17 SEPTEMBER Garden Party Where: College Grounds Time: 10.00am 3.00pm The annual Garden Party is a highlight on Pymble s annual calendar as our community gathers to connect and celebrate on the College grounds. Term 4 FRIDAY 21 OCTOBER Student Music Festival Where: James Kelso Field Time: 9.00am 3.00pm A celebration of performing arts will be on display for the students to enjoy on James Kelso Field. Keep an eye out for the announcement of our special guest performer. SUNDAY 23 OCTOBER Longest Lunch Where: Centenary Precinct Cost: $ per person Time: 12.00pm 3.00pm Celebrate with friends and enjoy a Mediterranean themed lunch and reflect on our Centenary year. FRIDAY 4 NOVEMBER Centenary Sports Awards Dinner Where: Miramare Gardens, Terrey Hills Cost: $ per person Time: 7.00pm 11.00pm The Awards Dinner will celebrate Pymble s magnificent sporting achievements and recognise our highest achieving students. Current Students and Parents SUNDAY 11 DECEMBER Christmas Carol Service for Ex-students Where: Pymble Ladies College War Memorial Chapel Time: 10.30am 11.30am All ex-students and their families are invited to join us for a special Christmas service celebrating the Centenary of the College and it s connection with the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches. *Please note that every effort has been made with the accuracy of the event details, however it is subject to change.
