1 NORTH RIDGEVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION PAGE 204 The North Ridgeville Board of Education met in Regular Session on October 18, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the North Ridgeville Education Center Community Room. CALL TO ORDER Mrs. Maria Sycz called the meeting to order. FINALIZATION OF AGENDA None Resolution #11:10-221: APPROVAL OF MINUTES It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the video transcribed meeting minutes for September 6, Further, it is recommended that a written summary of the special and regular minutes for the meetings on September 6, 2011 and September 20, 2011 be approved. Employment will be on an as-needed basis in accordance with rules, regulations and Board Policy governing such employment. (This item is part of the Master Service Agreement for On-Line Data Processing Services which was previously board approved on April 19, 2011.) WINGSPAN CARE GROUP INC. BELLEFAIRE JEWISH CHILDREN S BUREAU Agreement for special education services for a preschool student to attend Monarch School for the school year. BEHAVIORAL CONSULTANT AGREEMENT Agreement with Mr. Tony Liber, licensed behavioral consultant, for professional services for the school year. BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION INSTITUTE OF OHIO Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for three SPED students for (Required by the students IEPs) STEPS CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN AUTISM Contract to provide behavioral consultation services for an Autistic SPED student for the school year. STEPS CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN AUTISM Contract to provide educational services and behavioral support for an Autistic SPED student for the school year. E.J.Q. HOME HEALTH CARE, INC. Contract for skilled nursing services for a SPED student attending Westwood School in Elyria for the school year. BEREA CITY SCHOOLS TUITION/EXCESS COSTS AGREEMENT Tuition/Excess Costs agreement for Special Education students attending Berea City Schools for the school year. ELYRIA CITY SCHOOLS TUITION/EXCESS COSTS AGREEMENT Tuition/Excess Costs agreement for Special Education students attending Elyria City Schools for the school year. ROLL CALL: Mr. Vacha, yes; Mrs. Hrabik, yes; Mr. Lyons, yes; Mrs. McCarthy, yes; Mrs. Sycz, Resolution #11:10-228: ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS It is recommended that the Board of Education accept the following gifts with appreciation: (1) $2, was donated to the Lear North Elementary by the Lear North PTA to be used for updating technology where most needed in the building. (2) $1, was donated by The Mockingbird Foundation to the Middle School Music Department. The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit foundation operated entirely on-line, run by volunteers, and devoted entirely to music education. Donation will be used specifically for the repair and/or replacement of instruments, equipment, sheet music or any music-related materials which were damaged/lost as a result of the flood that occurred on 2/28/11 resulting in the Middle School being closed on 3/1/11. (3) Six floor-mount flush-valve toilets (excellent condition) were donated by Mr. B. Simon for use where most needed in the district. (Estimated value: $600.00) (4) Six cases of miscellaneous new school supplies were donated to needy students at Liberty Elementary by Best Buy in Avon (Contact: Mr. M. Zietlow, NR resident/parent). (Value: $404.76) (5) One used Wii system, including four controllers, two chargers three games and a balance board were donated to Liberty Elementary by Mrs. Z. Carter (NR resident/parent). (Estimated value: $200.00) (6) Approximately 90 children s books (new and slightly used) were donated to the library at the Early Childhood Learning Center by Mrs. E. Wuorinen (NR resident/parent). (Estimated value: $100.00) (7) Several sets of bulletin board borders were donated to Liberty Elementary by Mrs. H. Schnell (NR resident/parent). (Estimated value: $50.00) Total donations received for the school year: $17, Moved by Mr. Lyons, seconded by Mrs. McCarthy, that the Board of Education accept the above gifts with appreciation. Mrs. Carter also asked why there were salary adjustments on the Board Agenda if our employees agreed to a salary and step freeze.
