1 Newsletter: 15 th June 2018 Histon & Impington Infant School Upcoming Events Dear Parents/Carers, Thank you to those parents of children in Classes 10 and 12 who joined us for the performance at the end of our Music Day on Wednesday. I am sure that, like me, you were impressed by the quality of the work that the children produced. The children have learnt so much through these Travelling Tuba days and a huge thank you is due to the PTA who have funded these wonderful curriculum opportunities. It is something we are planning to repeat next year. I also hope that parents of children in Class 1 enjoyed their class assembly today. I was very sorry to have missed it. Year 1 children have been taking their phonic screening checks this week. It has been heartening to see how the children have taken this in their stride, with many of them have not even realising that they have been doing anything out of the ordinary. I am aware that some of our children already possess mobile phones. Although, ultimately this is down to your choice as parents, we would like you to ensure that they are not brought into school unless there are exceptional circumstances. If this is the case I would be grateful if you could talk to either myself or office staff in advance. You will see from the diary dates that Year 1 have visits to the Year 2 classrooms over the next few weeks. If you are able to walk with the children your help would be much appreciated. We aim to leave the Infant School at 1pm on the 25 th June and leave the Junior School at 11.45am on the 17 th July. Please do let your class teacher know if you are available to help. Year 2 parents, please can we remind you that the children need to be dropped off at the Infant School on Monday and collected from the Junior site.
