5 8th Grade Announcements: Please Mrs. Butler at if you have any questions. For 8th graders only 1. All 8th grade students need to bring in $2 AND a paper towel tube (with name written on it in pen) to their science teacher by May 1 to be used for building rockets. 2. The 8th grade spring dance will be held on Saturday, May 21st. We are in need of parents to chaperone, help decorate and to supervise the dance. Please contact your child's homeroom teacher if interested in helping. A huge shout out to our Palmetto Partners!

8 Think you might be interested in Palmetto Cheerleading? There will be an informational meeting on Monday, January 25 th at 6pm in the middle school auditorium. This meeting is for all RISING 7 th graders through rising 12 th graders. Summer calendars will be given out along with cost information sheets. If you THINK you might be interested, we will see you on the 25 th! BETA CLUB UPDATE: 6 th Grade Beta Induction is going to be Tuesday, January 26 th. We are getting the information ready to go home to our 6 th graders soon! Palmetto s Finest Cards get you in free to all C-Team HOME football games and front of the lunch line EVERYDAY! Palmetto s Finest Qualifications for the 2 nd Nine Weeks Please Mr. Knight at knightb@anderson1.k12.sc.us if you have any questions. To earn Palmetto's Finest you must meet the following criteria: 1) All grades 80's and above 2) No demerits for the nine week period 3) No more than 2 unexcused absences.

9 4) Complete community service hours 10 hours of service are required for the first quarter. Students simply record the hours they volunteer, the service they provided, and have the supervisor sign and record their phone number. Guidelines for hours 1. Ten hours of community service is required each nine weeks. 2. No more than four (4) hours of service can be directly related to any family member. 3. Completed service hours are due to your Homeroom teacher on the last day of the quarter. A minimum of ten hours of community service is required for each quarter of school.
