Resignation - (Information Only) a. Ms. Rita Cetta from the position of Paraprofessional Category #2 at Swift Middle School effective, October 17, 2014, for the purpose of retirement. 2. Grant (Information Only) The Federal Consolidated Grant has been completed and submitted to the State Department of Education for approval. The total amount of the Consolidated Grant is $318,923. This total includes $12,848 for the town s parochial schools. The grant is composed of: a. Title I, Part A - Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Educational Agencies $220,178 b. Title II, Part A - Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting Fund - $98,745 The grant monies will be applied toward district initiatives in the improvement of instruction and student learning, with a specific emphasis on academic interventions for struggling learners. The grant was written by Janet Parlato, Director of Curriculum & Instruction. 3. Presentation Ms. Jill Browne, Business Manager, will provide information regarding student

6 Page 6 transportation, savings opportunities, and vehicle purchase proposal. K. Report from the Chairman L. Action Items Adoption of items to be Approved by Consent 1. Consideration of the Approval of an Out-of-Country Field Trip to Montreal and Quebec Canada Roseceil Rader, World Language Teacher at Swift Middle School, request permission to conduct an out-of-country field trip to Montreal and Quebec, Canada with Swift Middle School students, from October 22, 2015 to October 24, There will be 40 students with four chaperones. The purpose of this trip is French language and cultural immersion. The trip will demonstrate the power and value of the French language, increase and sustain our French enrollment, and involve the students in multiple, interdisciplinary activities. It is recommended that the Board approve of the Out-of Country Field trip to Montreal and Quebec, Canada from October 22, 2015 to October 24, Consideration of the Approval to Authorize the Business Manager to enter into an Agreement to Lease-to-Purchase two (2) Dodge Caravans and two (2) Ford F-350 Vehicles. The Board of Education reviewed the lease-to-purchase agreement tonight and recommends that the Board approve of authorizing the Business Manager to enter into an agreement with Municipal Leasing Credit Corporation, for the lease-to-purchase four (4) vehicles for Watertown Public Schools.
