2 Welcome The lup community extends a warm welcome to the families and friends of a very distinguished graduat ing class. Over the past sev eral years, the class mem bers have worked and stud ied and are now ready to begin a new chapter in their lives. For some, this will mean a job and the respon sibilities of a family. For others, it will mean gradu ate or professional school. Whatever course their future takes, we hope that our graduates will look back on their years here as having prepared them to meet and deal with the challenges that life will present. m In today's ceremony, we recognize more than one thousand undergraduate and graduate students for their academic achievement. The university joins parents, spouses, relatives, and friends in congratulating the graduates on their accomplishments and in wishing for them the happiness of a productive life, the respect of theirfel low human beings, and the love of their families. 3 ^commencement Indiana University of P ennsylvania George P. Miller Stadium Eleven O'Clock (H % The Star-Spangled Banner O Say! Can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight. O'er the ramparts we watch'd were so gallantly streaming And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night, that our flag was still there. O, say, does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave O er the land of the free and the home of the brave. Alma Mater To our noble Alma Mater's name We, her children, sing ajoyful lay And to her anew allegiance pledge. That lives beyond a day.
