Emphasis is on the impairments related to clinical diagnoses and relation to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) levels of body structures and body functions. "Occupation" is reviewed and defined in terms of developmental, physical and psychosocial aspects. External factors such as the physical and social environment and culture are examined to appreciate their effect on one's ability to engage in occupation. The consequences of the absence of occupation on humans is also explored. 2.
