1 Base Package The Assistive Technology Base Package document was developed by Kentucky Educational Co-op Consultants to provide a resource for teachers, principals, special education directors and/or superintendents who need information regarding basic equipment and software necessary to equip special education classrooms. The suggestions within this document are specifically recommended to allow special needs students access their curriculum. It is understood that every classroom has unique needs and that the items recommended within the base package document may not be applicable to every classroom. Therefore, districts should use this information as a guide, while also considering specific student needs when purchasing appropriate educational technology and software for classrooms.
