Principal's Highlights Allen is dedicated to offering a comprehensive education through academic achievement, technology, problem solving and Conscious Discipline. Allen is committed to developing students social & emotional skills with the implementation of Conscious Discipline strategies & PBIS/SEL standards. Allen partnered with families to support student learning by hosting student-led conferences in the spring, monthly morning mugs, & Parent U. classes. Allen was a part of the Striving Readers Grant which, provided additional ELA support and training opportunities for teachers. School partners helped to offer enriching experiences to students: Hobey s Casino, Outback, and WatchDOGS. Allen participated in the Run for Education, with double the participation of last year. Teachers participated in a progressive professional learning model that included differentiated strands, focusing on text complexity, CTiP, and SEL. Allen utilizes Accelerated Reader to motivate students to read. Students use their points as tickets for the Renaissance Fair in June. Allen utilizes STAR and MAP data to monitor students growth in ELA and Math. Instructional and support services are designed to foster exceptional academic excellence and support for all students. School Communication Efforts Goals and Objectives Goal 1 Allen Elementary students will improve their proficiency on the WCSD Performance Summary in Math with additional focus on the LEP and IEP sub-groups. Objective(s): Allen Elementary students will improve their proficiency rates from 63% to 68% on the WCSD Performance Summary with LEP students decreasing the achievement gap from 19% to 12% and the IEP sub-group from 52% to 46%. Goal 2 Students will improve their proficiency on the WCSD Performance Summary in Reading with additional focus on the LEP and IEP sub-groups. Objective(s): Allen Elementary students will improve their proficiency rates from 60% to 65% on the WCSD Performance Summary with LEP students decreasing the achievement gap from 26% to 21% and the IEP sub-group from 49% to 42%. Goal 3 Increase and improve our partnerships with families to help them understand and navigate the educational system. Objective(s): Partnership with families and staff to understand data and navigate the educational system. Improved communication with families. Build staff capacity to assist and communicate with parents regarding student performance data. Support families in advocating for their child. Allen communicates with Stakeholders by publishing a monthly newsletter, ConnectEd phone calls to announce happenings, and a monthly Coffee with the Principal meeting. The Principal maintains an open door policy, regular office hours, and attends monthly PFO meetings. Allen partnered with families to support student learning by hosting student-led conferences in the spring where students shared their growth data.
