Come along with us on an Amazing Desert Journey this summer in VBS! Each day the children will learn about God s love and how He provides for their lives now and in eternity through Jesus, His Son, our Savior! Registration is open to grades Pre-K-5th, for VBS, July 30th to August 3rd. Kids will meet friends, explore Bible stories, do activities, sing songs, make crafts, play games, and eat snacks. 2 P a g e 2 Worship Opportunities This Week: Weekly Worship Thursday 6:30 PM Saturday 1:00 & 6:30 PM Sunday 7:30 & 10:00 AM Tuition Assistance Mission Focus Mission offerings between the months of March-May will be split between the Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School Tuition Assistance Fund and the Peace Lutheran School Tuition Assistance fund. Both funds assist in assisting those families who might otherwise be unable to afford Christian education at either the elementary of secondary level to receive assistance with tuition to help make the payments possible. To date offerings for tuition assistance have totaled $ Earth Day Project Your Hartford Wal-Mart store is challenging each class at PLS to see how many plastic bags we can collect. We would like to gather as many plastic bags as possible to recycle and keep our city clean. Each class will keep count of their collection of bags. We will accept bags in the classrooms through May 15th. The winning class will receive a pizza party lunch on Friday May 18th PLS Calendar To assist with schedules and vacation planning for the upcoming school year, some finalized school calendar is included below. A complete calendar will be included with your school handbook during our summer registration event. Calendar information is also available at August 27 - First day of school September 3 - Labor Day--No School September 28 - No School * October WLS Teacher s Conference, No School * November Thanksgiving Break, No School December 24-January 1 - Christmas Break, No School * February 8 - Wisconsin Reading Conference, No School * March 29 April 7- Easter Break, No School * May 27- Memorial Day, No School New in Panther Care Next year - We will offer Panther Care on some of our school holidays. We hope that this will ease the burden of finding childcare on those days. The days with the * asterisk above will be open as follows: Sept. 28, Oct , Dec , Feb. 8 & April 2-5.

Check out the webonly clearance items up to 60% off and take $1.00 off every pictured item on the order form sent home with your child. Market Day has some great items for the grilling season! Market Day Updates Orders are due to the school office on Friday May 23rd by 3:00 p.m. and internet orders are due on Saturday May 26th. Track News Practice Change The track practice on Tuesday, May 15th has been moved to Hartford Union High School s track. A shuttle bus will take the team members to the track right after school where the students will practice until 4:00, when they should be picked up behind the high school. Please alert Mr. Rademan or Mr. Wittig if transportation will be an issue. Upcoming meets this school year include: May 16th KML Federation Meet participant dismissal at 1:45 that day. May 24th HUHS meet with St. Killian, Saylesville, and Richfield Meet begins at 4:00. Hartford Jt. #1 Summer School Booklets for Hartford Jr. #1 School District Summer School courses are now available in the school office. Classes are held at Central Middle School June 18-July 13. You may register by mail or drop off a registration at Central Middle School through May 18th. Last week s News and Notes contained information on a great summer reading & running marathon. All children, 8th grade and under, are invited to participate. You will run miles over the summer and read 26 books or for 26 hours. By entering you will receive a log sheet to help you keep track of your running and reading. By finishing, you will receive a an I RUN Kids Marathon T- shirt, Finisher s medal and goody bag. Then Kids Marathon you are invited to join in running the final mile at Wisconsin Lutheran college s Raabe Stadium. The cost is only $14 per student, thanks to a generous gift from Thrivent. 7 School Parents, We Need your Help! Dear Parents ~ We are once again making preparations for our school picnic to be held at Woodlawn Park on Friday, June 1st from about 10:00 A.M. 2:00 P.M. We have had tremendous support and enthusiasm for the end of the year picnic and hope to have it again this year! The purchase of the picnic supplies, rental of the park, bounce rides, joust, and popcorn supplies will cost about $500. It is through many generous donations of both time and money that the picnic has been such a huge success. Please consider volunteering and/or offering a monetary gift to help defray the costs. If you are interested in helping, please indicate below. This form should be returned to the school office by Wednesday, May 23 th. A schedule of helpers will be distributed on Thursday, May 29 th.
