We need you!!! Please sign up to help with Grandparents' Lunch which is Thursday, Nov. 17. There will be a sign-up sheet on the white board in the school lobby. Everyone's help is needed to make this the wonderful event our families are used to! There are many shifts available and something for everyone to do! Please contact pto@bjams.org with any questions. Grandparents Luncheon (Thurs., Nov. 17) - Seating times are as follows: Pre-K, Kindergarten, first grade: 11:00-11:45a.m.; second, third and fourth grades: 11:45-12:30 p.m.; fifth through eighth grades: 12:30-1:15p.m. We ask that grandparents and friends not return to the classroom with their students after the lunch period is over. Families are asked to contribute the items indicated below. Please put items NOT needing refrigeration outside homeroom classrooms by Thursday, Nov. 10 and bring items needing refrigeration to the kitchen on Thursday morning, Nov. 17 (day of the luncheon)when they drop off their student(s). Attention third grade: Please bring in your dinner napkins ASAP since they are needed to wrap utensils. Pre-K - One quart of half and half K Two pounds of butter 1 - Three cans of cranberry sauce 2 Two cans of whipped cream 3- One package of Thanksgiving-themed napkins (dinner size) 4- One fruit pie (no nuts) pre-cut into eight even slices 5- One pumpkin pie (no nuts) pre-cut into eight even slices 6 - Two packages of small dessert plates 7- One package plastic cups (6-8 oz. size) 8- One fruit pie (no nuts) pre-cut into eight even slices Also, pursuant to our safety policy, families need to let homeroom teachers know the names of all those who are coming to the Grandparents Luncheon. Lost and Found - Our lost-and-found bin is overflowing! Please: 1) clearly label your student(s)' belongings so they will eventually be returned to you and 2) search the bin for your student(s)' missing items. Thank you! Christmas Fair - We are hard at work preparing for our annual Christmas Fair that will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. This event is for the benefit of the upper school and students in grades 6-8 are expected to work at it. We also ask parents of students in grades 6-8 to lend a muchneeded hand! Please see attached informational flyer on page 3 if your student is in grades 6-8.

2 Scholastic Book Fair - This year's fair will be held during Catholic Schools Week from Jan 30-Feb. 7, Basketball News - 1. We need YOU! Basketball coaches' meeting Monday, November 14, 6:00-6:30. All coaches from 1st-8th grade! Any and all who can volunteer as little as a few times a season! All positions available from manager, assistant coach to coach! Don't be intimidated, great time to get involved! We will go over practice times, game schedules, new rules for the season and general information. 2. Basketball informational meeting, Tuesday, November 15, 6:00-7:00 pm in the multipurpose room. 3rd-8th grade interested players are invited to sign up! Questions? Contact Coach Buczek at: bbuczek@bjams.org. Soccer News - Last call for soccer uniforms! They were due back to Coach Buczek on Nov. 1. All uniforms not accounted for will be billed to families at the cost of $50. BJAMS Community Service Project - BJAMS will again participate in a very special community service project for this holiday season organized by Samaritan's Purse entitled Operation Christmas Child. Grades Pre-K through 8 will be collecting items (see below) to fill empty shoeboxes with a variety of quality gifts for boys and girls ages 5-9. These treasured items will bring joy to children living in difficult circumstances all over the world. For more information go to samaritanspurse.org. A big thank you goes to all of our BJAMS families who will participate in it! Items grades are asked to contribute to the box in their classroom by the morning of Friday, November 18 (items will be packed that afternoon): Pre-K & Kindergarten : small stuffed animals or small balls 1st & 2nd grade: toothbrushes & toothpaste, soap & washcloths 3rd & 4th grade: hair ties and barrettes, combs/brushes Upper School (5th through 8th): school supplies: pencils, lined paper, crayons, markers, erasers, pencil sharpeners Note: If families prefer to give a monetary donation instead (or in addition to!) to help cover shipping and handling costs, checks can be made out to Samaritan's Purse and can be given to Mrs. Kohl in at the school office. Thank you! GMTA Commuter Bus - The commuter bus between BJAMS, Stowe and Waterbury is becoming increasingly popular! We ask parents to be mindful of the following: 1) When a student takes the bus only on an occasional basis, parents must communicate with the school office and their student's teacher every day their student is taking the bus. An early morning to the office/teacher is needed to prevent end-of-the day confusion. 2) Parents must send their children to school with sufficient funds to pay for the bus fare. Faculty and staff are not permitted by BJAMS to loan students money. 3) If student do not have bus money, they need to call home and have their parents bring the bus money to them during the school day or pick them up at the end of the school day or from ASP (until 5:15). 4) A parent must be waiting at the bus stop for his/her student. For more information, visit Bishop Marshall School Alumni and Friends In Musical At Lamoille Union - Lamoille Union will present the fall musical High School Musical On Stage! on November 10, 11 and 12 at the school auditorium on Route 15 in Hyde Park. Bishop Marshall alumni Erubay Lopez and Zoe Bruns sing and dance as basketball players. Katelyn Shaw is Taylor, head of the Science Club; and Griffin Koss is featured as Jack Scott, the school announcer. High School Musical On Stage! is based on the 2006 Disney movie sensation. All the excitement, music and drama of the East High Wildcats returns as we follow the adventures of Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay and their classmates. Can a basketball championship game, a science decathlon, and auditions for the school musical really all happen on the same day? This show is fully G-rated and suitable for small children, teens, parents, grandparents, and everyone who loves pop music, fabulous dance, and team spirit. Show times are 7 PM on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights November 10, 11, and 12. There is also a 2 PM performance on Saturday, November 12. Tickets are $9 and $7 and are available either in the school offices or at the door.

4 CHRISTMAS FAIR INFORMATION ATTENTION: GRADES 6, 7 AND 8 ONLY Greetings Upper School Families, We are getting closer to the annual Christmas Craft Fair! The fair will be on Saturday, December 3 rd from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. This is a great community event that benefits the upper school! The vendors and shoppers typically enjoy quick food so they can get back to shopping, and we need your help! We will serve muffins and coffee in the morning and a variety of lunch items in the afternoon. Please take a moment to review the list. The eighth grade will be working in the kitchen at our fair. Grades six and seven will be assisting vendors the night before and the day of the fair. You will receive an invitation on Nov. 4 to edit two Google docs to sign up for: 1) a food item to contribute and 2) the shift your student and you can work at the Christmas Fair. Be on the lookout for that!
