2 Information 2017 Mon. July 24 - Thu. July 27 Family Fun Day July 28 KidsCollege at Terra State Community College has brought academic enrichment to more than 5000 kids over the last 24 years! KidsCollege is a great opportunity to make new friends and to be on a college campus. Offerings vary from year to year and include classes in the creative arts, science, technology, fitness and fun! KidsCollege is designed for students entering 1st grade through 8th grade. We recommend that students register for classes for the grade in which they will be entering in the fall. KidsCollege classes meet Monday-Thursday (4 days). Each class is 1.5 hours long. Following registration for KidsCollege, a detailed confirmation will be mailed to your home. Please be advised that you will be required to be with your child at sign-in and sign-out each day and show a photo ID to sign-out your child. Parents or Guardians are welcome to visit any class their child is attending. Friday FunFest Come join us for a fantastic day of fun and activities! Come blow off some steam! This fun-filled day includes many different stations from cotton candy to face painting! Each year there are new surprises and games with some great prizes for the winners! Don t forget the inflatable, crafts table (make something to take home and share) or the outdoor games, balloon animals, and maybe even a water balloon fight! Lunch is provided with registration. Parents and Guardians are always welcome and can purchase a lunch for only $4. 3 KidsCollege Courses All About Animals If you have ever had an interest in 4H projects with animals but aren t sure where to start, or maybe you are just an animal enthusiast, this may be the class for you! Come learn about how to raise and train different types of animals and you may even get to meet a few! Students will use Photoshop to transform photos of themselves into Pop Art Portraits in the style of Roy Lichtenstein, the famous Pop Artist. You will also compete in other challenges that can help you toward your goal of the best cardboard building ever! Perfect for those that love handson experiments, this fun class is sure to challenge you. Besides learning basic Photography tips to improve their shots, students will also learn how to use cool computer programs like Photoshop to edit photos together in fun and creative ways. Projects are based on what students want to create. Previous examples include: Creating Doppelganger/Clone photos (multiple clones of themselves or others in a shot), tiny people (e.g. someone the size of an ant), giant people (e.g. someone the size of Godzilla, stomping around Terra), etc. The possibilities are endless!
