2 Student Leadership Check out the Counselors Corner newsletter on the New Vista website for more leadership, community & summer school opportunities: Counselor's Corner The latest issue is loaded with jobs, volunteer experiences, and post-secondary events! Student Notes Summer School at Boulder Prep Boulder prep is offering an on-campus summer school. Students can earn up to three New Vista credits in six weeks. This would be great for a student who just needs path credit. And, it is FREE! See the attached flyer. Boulder Public Library Summer Reading Program: See attached flyer for details there are incentives and prizes! Girls Rugby Club this summer: All high school girls are invited to play on the Monarch High Summer 7 s team. Games will be on Sundays in June and July. The team consists of a mix of girls with a range of athletic experience prior to rugby. Some girls have soccer, lacrosse, swim or volleyball experience while many girls are enjoying their first go with organized sports. Our club also plays 15s in the fall across the region with other high school clubs so this would be a great opportunity for girls to try it out. See attached flyer. Summer Sundays on the Hill: The City of Boulder is pleased to announce a new event series: Summer Sundays on the Hill! Families can enjoy free kid-friendly activities and free parking every Sunday morning in June and July from 8:00-11:00 a.m. sponsored by the City of Boulder and Hill businesses. For a schedule of events, see attached flyer.

Dear New Vista students: As summer approaches and weather gets warm, we would like to remind all NV students to maintain respect around your choices: Students are expected to wear clothing that does not offend or that is provocative. An administrator may ask students to cover or change offensive or provocative clothing. Clothing that in any way signifies gang relationships Clothing that is distracting to our learning such as but not limited to, tank tops, short shorts, short skirts, exposed backs, midriffs and halter tops, low riders, underwear, and Any clothing that emphasizes drugs, alcohol, tobacco, sex, nudity, or includes foul language/symbols is inappropriate for our community. Students are expected to wear shoes at all times. Students may not wear sunglasses indoors. CELEBRATIONS Congratulations to Zach Fox for his 3rd place award in the Mathematics category at the Science Research Symposium on April 29. Great Job Zach! CAP wraps up a successful Q4: The Community Adventure Program (CAP) just finished their quarter with a fun day in the field. The class pitched in at Scott Carpenter Park's community day, learned a few more primitive fire skills, then took a final hike together. This week they will be reflecting on their Action Project to wrap up another fun quarter of CAP with the Cottonwood Institute! Senior Art Show at Art Parts/ Bricolage Gallery: Hooray for New Vista artists, Dillon Osborn, Dara Binegar, Noah Fehlau-Barton, Jordan Holderby, Alethea Tyler, Caroline Dissly, and Carter Maher, whose work was featured on Saturday. Kudos to Kaci Ally, who organized it. Congratulations to our graduating Best wishes in all your future endeavors!
