Both clubs open to girls and boys. See club register. Funding has continued to fun our Street Dance club on a Friday evening that is attending by a mixture of Year 3/4/5/6 children. This club was only open to Y5/6 last year but we have opened up access to Y3 & 4 this year too. Funding used this year to cover the cost of lane hire at the New Grimsby Swimming Pool to allow our children to attend weekly sessions at a weekend to train for the Schools Swimming Gala. We have chosen to cover the cost of lane hire to prevent children from not being able to attend due to having to charge per session. As a result, our swimmers have been able to attend weekly over the last 3months at no personal cost. Gymnastics club launched from October Beth Storr from Grimsby Gymnastics is now being employed to provide a weekly club on a Tuesday that is open to both boys and girls in Y5/6. (One girl on the P.E G&T register has been invited to attend and she attends weekly). We currently have more demand than we have places so we as an Academy will look to increase provision when Beth becomes available later in the year on other evenings. New Y3/4 Gymnastics club launched on Friday evenings (from May 17). 22 children from Y3/4 are now to attend this weekly Friday evening session. Invitations were initially given out as a result of talent spotting in our recent Gymnastics module in PE across KS2. Funding is used to also fund an additional Dance club that is run by Mrs Bradley every Monday that 19 Y6 girls attend on a weekly basis. See Sports Overview Report on School Website 60 children a week currently attend our Football in the Community sessions over two evenings. With two clubs now running the club is now open to children from Years 3-6. Children were able to attend weekly swimming lessons/sessions over a weekend at no financial cost to them or their family. Sports ensured that cost didn t become a barrier to participation. We now have a qualified Gymnastic coach who we employ for one session a week. 22 Y5/6 children per week attend our newly formed Gymnastics club. This club culminates in a performance/skipping festival at Grimsby Auditorium where the children perform alongside other schools. Sports funding has been used to subscribe to the local School Sports Partnership. Competitions run by the OAW SSP and we attended the majority. Opportunities existed across all year groups. Entered several local football competitions run by local members of the FA (girls and boys). Owen Denovan came in as part of our SSP support time to assist SC with the delivery of the intra-school Football tournament. 15 children trained on Saturdays with Mrs French in preparation for the annual Swimming Gala. Those children went on to compete in the gala. 23 children attend skipping club once a week. Those 23 are preparing to perform at the Skipping festival in July. Our children have had access to inter-school competitions. Our children have attended and competed in local Hockey, Basketball, Football, Gymnastics and Athletic competitions. Our Gymnastics team finished 4 th out of 17 competing schools from across the district. We sent a team of 7 Y5 boys to compete against a number of other schools from within our academy trust. We entered a team of Y5 Girls into a local Girls only football tournament in May. We have entered two Y3/4 teams into the SSP Quad kids athletics tournament that was staged at King George V athletics stadium. We have entered a Y5 girls team into the local Girls cricket competition at Cleethorpes Cricket Club. The whole of KS2 (289 children) will compete and participate in our intra-school competition for cricket in term 2 of the Summer term. Our first academic year of having whole-school Intra-school competitions linked to PE units is in progress. All the children and classes have been allocated into three house team (Aspire, Belief & Courage). All KS2 classes have focussed on the teaching of Tag Rugby, football, cricket which have culminated in an end of unit competition that has seen them compete against their year group peers while representing their house Our intra-school competitions have ensured that every child in KS2 has had access to Children have competed against their peers within each year group and their scores and points will be carried forward to contribute to the whole-school score for their house. Sports money has being used to acquire and upgrade equipment ready for each new half term and focus. One key example of this was the purchase of new footballs, new rugby balls, tag rugby belts and new bibs that are the colours of the three houses (red, blue and green). Every child has access to 2 hours of timetabled PE per week. Every Y4 child has attended and received swimming lessons as part of the curriculum. Every child in school has had access to and has taken part in intra-school completions. This development helps us ensure that everyone has access to competitive sports instead of the minority who represent the school at inter-school level. Our new Curriculum plan will ensure that every class and child have access to a broad and balanced PE curriculum over the year as these will all be linked in with the end of term competitions. Upgraded equipment has allowed more classes to access one sport on one afternoon. Due to school size we often have demand for the same equipment at the same time now every class is focussing on the same unit.

Year 6 attended Yr6 residential this year that included activities such as raft building, archery, high ropes and rock climbing. Link established with Grimsby Gymnastics that has seen Beth Storr support us with the launch of two after school clubs. Beth is also now available for curriculum support. Link established with Grimsby Cricket Club that has seen us access curriculum support through a professional coach. We now also have the facility to refer any Gifted and Talented children to their club. Links remain with Grimsby Town that sees them delivery two after school sessions a week of football to Years 3-6. We have continued to subscribe to and work closely with the local Schools Sports Partnership and their partners to arrange staff training to improve and develop the skills staff have within school. Owen came in and delivered some whole-staff training in preparation for this year s tag rugby unit. We are now beginning to liaise with Owen Donovan via our links with the SSP to arrange further staff training. Owen is booked in to come and deliver whole-school staff training for Tag Rugby in anticipation of staff being asked to teach this as the first unit of the school year. Owen came into school to support and model Tag Rugby lessons with the Year 5 children for Year 5 staff. Discussions with Owen are ongoing as to what other wholeschool staff training he can help us with by delivering as we look to develop and expand upon this year s competition programme. We have used Sports to pay and affiliation fee to the Lincolnshire Cricket Boards to access and participate in their Club funding continued SSP 1500 See Sports Overview report allowed us to cater for this. The new goals will allow our school to host inter-school fixtures for the first time in several years. Street Dance is open to children from Years 3, 4, 5 & 6. Cricket curriculum support (Y5) 44 children attend weekly gymnastics sessions with a professional coach. Staff training took place to upskill our teaching staff (28 members of teaching staff) for teaching areas of PE they may not have taught previously. E.g. Tag Rugby whole-school training booked in ready for the teachers to have the confidence to teach Tag Rugby in September. Staff more confident to teach Tag Rugby this year as a result of the staff meeting training. Owen to came in and support individual members of staff with their curriculum delivery (3 members of staff). Owen teamtaught with Y5 staff so they could acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver our new curriculum individually in the future.

As part of this, John Mansfield (professional cricket coach) has come in weekly during Summer 1 to deliver cricket sessions to all three Year 5 classes. Craig Dobbs from the SSP came in to deliver Young Leader workshops/training to 83 for three different classes from three different year groups (One from Y3, Y4 & Y5). Attend termly SSP meetings and have one to one meetings with Owen Denovan (Primary PE Specialist) to evaluate the school s current strengths and weaknesses in PE and sport, and implement plans for improvement Owen Denovan has evaluated and critiqued the PE pages of our school website and has given advice for continued areas for development. Each term has had a theme this year and this has been discussed, explained and the focus of all of our assemblies (Perseverance, co-operation, resilience). These have been discussed and links have been made to sport and how these are key skills in PE/Sport as well as everyday life. We ve entered the SSP s Morals, spiritual and cultural Years 1-4 had to design a banner around the theme of one of the School Games Morals. Yrs 5-6 had to write an oath about sporting morals and enter them in a competition where the winner will be read out at the final of the Humber School Games. SSP membership See Sports Overview report Cricket coach came in and supported the delivery of cricket with all 3 Y5 classes (78 children) to give those children access to quality first teaching and to upskill the Y5 staff. 83 children given initial Young Leader training. Termly SSP meeting allow me to listen to and learn from colleagues from other schools based on their experiences. Owen and Nick provide the PE co-ordinators with termly updates regarding the latest guidelines and national expectations. More classes have expressed an interest in trialling the golden mile during Summer Term 2. All classes have been issued with a new PSHE programme of study that includes units relating to personal health, healthy eating and the dangers of smoking. The whole of Y5 (78 children) will be given two days of Bikeability training to educate them how to keep safe when biking on the roads. Dinner staff and teaching staff monitor the packed lunches of children daily to ensure they are healthy and appropriate. Learning mentor support regards healthy eating and lifestyles available on request. These requests can be made by staff or by parents. Healthy snacks offered to all children. KS1 have access to free fruit and KS2 can purchase fruit at break times from tuck shop. Healthy lunches served. A salad bar and fresh fruit is available every day for school dinner children. School dinners also serve a selection salad, potatoes and healthy yoghurts daily. Packed lunches monitored across the whole school. Parent nurture support delivered by Learning Mentors.
