Approval will be considered at the next Board meeting.) MIAMI TRACE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION OFFICE 5:30 P.M. A public hearing was made available prior to the board meeting at 5:00 p.m. for an opportunity for the public to learn about and provide input on the federal grant funds awarded to the district. Special Education Directors Amy O Dierno and Jackie Morris, Superintendent Dave Lewis and Treasurer/CFO Debbie Black were available for the hearing. There was not any input by the public. CONSENT AGENDA Minutes: The minutes for the February 12, 2018, strategy session meeting were submitted for approval. Field Trip: The superintendent recommended that the board approve the Instrumental Music Teachers from the MTMS and the MTHS to take students to the OMEA District 16 Honor Band on March 23, 2018, and March 24, 2018, at Waverly High School. Employment: The superintendent recommended that the board approve the following individuals to be employed as indicated: A. Certificated: ( School Year) 1. Substitute Teachers: a. The fee will be used to offset costume rental costs. Fees: The superintendent recommended that the board approve the request for a $25.00 fee for MTMS band students to participate in the OMEA District 16 Honor Band. Fees: The superintendent recommended that the board approve the request for a $56.00 equipment fee for the 2018 high school baseball season. This cost will cover hat, long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirt, and shorts. 2

3 Contract: (See Exhibit A.) The superintendent recommended that the board approve the request from the District Technology Coordinator, Mrs. Katy Zink, for the MVECA service provider contract for Internet access services (effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021). Contract: (See Exhibit B.) The superintendent recommended that the board approve the request from the District Technology Coordinator, Mrs. Katy Zink, for the MVECA service provider contract for managed wireless services (effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022). Use of Facilities: facilities: The superintendent recommended that the board approve the following requests to use A. Request from Terri Chapman to use the high school auditorium, choir, band and media rooms on June 1 & 2, 2018, for a dance recital. B. Request from Josh Thoroman to use the middle school gym on February 27, 2018, March 1, 6, 8, 13, 20, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. 7:00 p.m. for Big Cat S.C. Soccer Club. He also requested the MT Soccer practice field for February 27, 2018, March 1, 6, 8, 13, 22, 27, 2018, April 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for Big Cat S.C. Soccer Club C. Request from Bruce Bennett to use the elementary school kitchen and cafeteria for the FFA Alumni Dinner on March 17, D. Request from Wanda Coil to use the elementary on March 11, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the high school auditorium on May 4 & 5, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the Kiwanis Teen Talent Show. E. Request from Jeannine Whiteside to use the baseball field, March through the middle of May every Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Jeffersonville Junior High Panthers Baseball. Donations: The superintendent recommended that the board approve the following donations: A. $1, from Staples for the MTES Staff Trust Fund 022/9120 B. (55) T-shirts valued at $ for boys and girls basketball players and cheerleaders for tournaments from Jason Gardner Point Reality. C. $ from Miami Trace Athletic Boosters to MTHS Junior Class Fund 200/9019 D. $ from Miami Trace Athletic Boosters to MTES Staff Trust Fund 022/9120 E. $ MT ABC Club to MTHS Pupil Support Fund 018/9112 F. $ from MT Athletic Boosters to MTHS Staff Trust Fund 022/9112 G. $2, from Fayette County Travel & Tourism to MTHS Musical Fund 300/9472 The board president inquired if there was a motion to approve the consent agenda items. 4 Motion 18/24: Mr. Kirkpatrick moved to approve the employment. Mr. Dawson seconded the Roll Call: Mr. Henry, yes; Mr. Kirkpatrick, yes; Mr. Miller, yes; Mr. Andrews, abstain; Mr. Dawson, Consideration: The board considered a petition for property through forfeiture as notified by the Fayette County Common Pleas Court. Motion 18/25: Mr. Miller moved not to pursue the property pursuant to the petition. Mr. Andrews seconded the Roll Call: Mr. Kirkpatrick, yes; Mr. Miller, yes; Mr. Andrews, yes; Mr. Dawson, yes; Mr. Henry, Change Orders: The business manager requested board approval of the following change orders for the new high school project: A. Electrical revisions for additional lighting and bus heaters to the reconfigured bus lot extensions in the amount of $69, B. Added sump pump for orchestra pit and footing drains for the fixed-seat auditorium in the amount of $56, Motion 18/26: Mr. Miller moved to approve the change orders. The superintendent recommended the approval of a professional services agreement from SHP Leading Design for work related to the new high school concession and restroom project. Motion 18/27: Mr. Kirkpatrick moved to approve the agreement for the fee of $73,400. Superintendent Report Mr. David Lewis School Safety Discussion: The superintendent initiated discussion with board members and other district administrators and staff regarding school safety and a student-lead request for an assembly on March 14, The board gave their support to the administrative team to work with the students to determine the best course of action for the district. There was no official board action on the matter. 4
