1 Graduating Class Profile Academic Year 6-7 Executive Summary Each summer, the Office of Institutional Research prepares the Graduating Class Profile Report. This year s report contains information on the 6-7 academic year graduates. Basic demographics are included as well as information on how long the graduates have attended Southeastern and from which institutions students last transferred. During the 6-7 academic year Southeastern conferred a total of,8 degrees, a decrease of 6 (5.3%) degrees from the 5-6 academic year. Sixty-eight percent (68%) of baccalaureate degree recipients are White, Non-Hispanic, while sixty-four percent (64%) are female. Some highlights include: Twenty-three percent (3%) of the graduates who were classified as Beginning Freshmen graduated within four years. This is the same rate as 5-6 graduating class. For transfer students, Southeastern s leading feeder school is Baton Rouge Community College followed by Delgado Community College, Louisiana State University Baton Rouge, River Parishes Community College, University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Northshore Technical Community College, University of New Orleans, Southwest Mississippi Community College, Nicholls State University, and Northwestern State University. The undergraduate baccalaureate program with the highest number of graduates in 6-7 is the B.G.S. General Studies. That program is followed by the B.S.N. Nursing, B.S. Kinesiology, B.A. Management, B.A. Psychology, and B.S. Biological Sciences. The baccalaureate programs (at least 5 graduates) with the highest percentage of students who began as transfers are: B.G.S. General Studies followed by B.S. Athletic Training, B.S. Information Technology, B.S. Occupational Safety, Health and Environment, B.S. Mathematics, and B.S. Supply Chain Management. In contrast, the programs with the lowest percentage of transfers are: B.S. Biological Sciences, B.A. Spanish, B.S. Computer Science, B.S. Early Childhood Education, and B.A. Social Studies Education. Seventy-two percent (7%) of the baccalaureate degree recipients started Southeastern as Beginning Freshmen. This is up four percentage points over last year.
