1 Board/ Roster Mill Creek Elementary PTA Executive (elected) CO-PRESIDENTS: Serve as leader and key contact for the PTA; preside at all PTA meetings; ex-officio member of most committees; appoint chairpersons for special committees; coordinate the work of the committees so that the PTA's objectives can be met. Nicole McKnight Julia Atkins VP of FUNDRAISING: Manage the coordination of the PTA's fund-raising activities for Mill Creek Elementary. Since this position is a VP position, you will also act as an aide to the Co-Presidents and perform the duties of the Co-Presidents in the absence or inability of those officers to serve. Kim Burnett burnettkim@hotmail.com TREASURER: Responsible for and have custody of all funds; make disbursements as properly authorized; be present at all PTA events where money will be collected; assure that PTA policies and best practices are followed; prepare financial reports for each meeting as needed. We need one person for each grade to help with this program K 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th HC Extended Resource ART DOCENT COORDINATOR: Organize and coordinate volunteers to provide the students of Mill Creek Elementary with a supplemental art program. 4 FIELD DAY: Organize event with MCE PE teacher and coordinate volunteers. GARDEN/ECOLOGY CLUB: Provide students with outdoor learning experiences during lunch; oversee one to three school wide garden bed clean ups; host a plant sale 1-2 times per year. JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: Work with the Junior Achievement organization and coordinate volunteers for each classroom. Christine Ellis POPCORN: Organize parent volunteers as well as work with cafeteria staff for monthly Popcorn days; ordering popcorn and supplies when needed. Juli Trumbo RECYCLING: Assist/supervise students as they gather recycling from classrooms and take to recycling dumpster in the parking lot; every Thursday, 2:40-3:10pm. REFLECTIONS: Promote, collect and send submissions for the National PTA Reflections Program to the state PTA organization in the fall. 6 s - Communications ADVOCACY/LEGISLATION: Communicate National PTA and WSPTA positions on current legislative issues to our PTA. You may also have the opportunity to attend the WSPTA Legislative Assembly in October. Adam McKnight READER BOARD: Update the reader board in front of the school with messages on upcoming events. Reader board is normally changed out every week. VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Recruit volunteers and match with opportunities. WEBMASTER: Update the MCE PTA website with current information regarding various PTA programs and MCE info. webmaster@mcepta.org YEARBOOK: Taking and collecting pictures of students throughout the year at various events; create, submit and distribute the MCE yearbook; distribute, collect and track signed waivers of all students. Julie Winter Tammy Evans tlroscoe@hotmail.com s - Outreach OUTREACH (Angel Network and Charities): Work with the school counselor to fulfill charitable needs of those in the Mill Creek Community (e.g. holiday giving). Research and organize charitable drives to support our surrounding community. In this past this has included clothing drives, collecting gently used books for school libraries, etc. Reggie Katagiri

7 s - Spirit/Hospitality BIRTHDAY BOARD: Update and maintain the birthdays of students and staff on the birthday board located in the cafeteria. FIFTH GRADE CELEBRATION: Work with 5th grade teachers to organize a graduation ceremony and party. Schabahn Day Laura Renshaw HOSPITALITY: The official host of the MCE PTA; organize food and drinks at PTA events which may include the Welcome Back Tea, Science Day morning and Veteran's Day Assembly (every other year). SCIENCE DAY POTLUCK: Organize and host a potluck for the Science Day presenters and volunteers. Co- Co- SPIRIT WEAR: Coordinate design and ordering of Mill Creek Elementary spirit wear; track sales and advertise products at various events. 8 s - Ways/Means COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING (Including BOX TOPS/LABELS FOR EDUCATION, FRED MEYER, etc.): Research and promote fundraising opportunities. FIFTH GRADE OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE FUNDRAISER: 4th grade parent who will organize fundrasiers for the next years outdoor experience. FINANCIAL REVIEW COMMITTEE SPRING (3 people needed): Review the financial records and practices of the MCE PTA by using a checklist that is provided. At the end of the review, the committee prepares a written report for the board and recommendations of corrections if necessary. The review is a requirement of the WA State PTA.
