1 Arlington Cardinals Wrestling Club General Information The Arlington Cardinals were founded in 1980 and have evolved into one of the premier youth wrestling programs in the State of Illinois. Most of our graduates go on to excel in high school and many have had great college careers. We stress excellence both on and off the mat! Practices Practice Schedules are posted on our website: First day of practice o Red Room - Wednesday, November 1 st -7:00-8:45 o Gold Room Thursday, November 2 nd - 6:00-7:15 We have 2 levels of wrestling instruction, schedules will vary based on that level o Gold Room 4 th Grade (newer wrestlers) and Younger o Red Room 4 th Grade (experienced wrestlers) and Older Coach s evaluations will determine the best fit for which practice to attend, these will be completed in the first two weeks of practice. The grade cutoff is not exact; it is a general guideline. The coaches will factor in age and experience to get the best room for the development of the wrestler. Registration / Uniforms: Registration Fee: o Practice with tournaments included - $350 per wrestler o Practice with only 1 tournament - $220 per wrestler o Multi-wrestler discounts are available The registration fee includes selected tournaments in the Chicago area, a t-shirt, membership in USA wrestling, supplemental insurance, and use of practice facilities Singlet Wresters will need to order a singlet for competition; the cost of a singlet is $67. Headgear is required ($12 - $25) Wrestling shoes are required ($25 - $45) Local stores to buy headgear/shoes: Dick Pond Athletics The World's Oldest Sport Season and Tournaments: The wrestling season length is November into March We typically compete in one tournament each Sunday at a high school in the Chicago area. The schedule of tournaments will be available shortly. Parents can choose which tournaments to attend; they are not mandatory. Coaches will provide feedback on which tournaments are good for newer or younger wresters.
