3 Subject:Mathematics BOOK- OXFORD NEW ENJOYING MATHEMATICS PART- III MONTH CONTENT WRITING/ACTIVITY TERM II Division Concepts More Division Introduction to the terms Divisor, Dividend, Quotient and Remainder. Facts related to Division. Dividing numbers with the method of Repeated Subtraction and Long Division. Dividing 2 digit and 3 digit numbers with 1 and 2 digits. Solving Book Exercise. Framing Word problems. Mental Maths (Time based) Children will be asked to share their pencils/crayons equally with their friends. E.g. if a child has 4 pencils then it will be shared with 2 friends and each friend will have 2 pencils. November Money Introduction to the terms related to Indian Currency. Paisa Rupees December Geometry: Shape, Space and Patterns Introduction to different denominations of Rupees and Paisa. Applying different mathematical operations like Addition, Subtraction etc in Rupees and Paisa. Understanding the importance of Money and Bills. Dodge Table Prepare an album of different currency of different countries. Doing mock shopping. Making Bills. Introduction to different shapes with examples. 2-D Shape 3-D Shape Introduction to terms like corner,vertex,sides,edges. Patterns with numerical and non-numerical shapes. Solving Book exercise Mental Maths. Making shapes with the help of Q-Tips. Collecting two objects of different shapes and explaining their shape in the classroom.
4 January Measurement Introduction to the importance of standard and nonstandard units of measurement and terms like Length, Weight and Capacity. Introduction to the different units of measurement like metre, centimetre, kilometre, litre, millilitre, grams and kilograms. Conversion of different units of measurement, For e.g. metre into kilometre, grams into kilograms, millilitre in litre and vice versa. Solving book exercise. Dodge table. Children will be taken to Infirmary to weigh their weight and height. Learn to make a weighing balance. Use of colour ribbons, string, hand span, measuring tape to clear the concept of length. Fractions Handling Data Define fractions. Identify the difference between a whole number and a part of a whole, Numerator and Denominator. Frame a fraction using numerator and denominator. Represent a fraction in words and figures, write fractions for shaded part. Compare like fractions, add and subtract fractions with same denominators. Introduction to representation of given information with help of Pictograph and Tally marks. Mental Maths. Create a collage of fraction with the help of cut-outs of different shapes. To make pictograph of different transport used by the students. March Revision Revising the concepts with the help of assignments.

Group discussion- children will discuss on different kinds of houses. They will further discuss on the material, places and their uses. December Unit-8- food L-8.1-food we eat Group project-children will paste pictures and information based on various components of foodcarbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins and minerals.
