License to Deliver FAQs: Everything DiSC Workplace Certification General FAQ What is the Everything DiSC Workplace Certification License? This license allows qualified partners to market and deliver the two-day in-person Everything DiSC Workplace Certification; and offer the Wiley credential of Certified Everything DiSC Workplace Facilitator. Details on how to qualify for a license are listed below. Who can apply for a license? Everything DiSC Authorized Partners this is most appropriate for those Partners who plan to deliver certification themselves to clients over a year. Does the Partner have to personally deliver the course? No. The Partner may choose to deliver the course or one of their business partners can. However, the person delivering the course (facilitator) must have attended and passed the Everything DiSC Workplace Certification online course hosted by Wiley. What s involved in the licensing process? Attend the Everything DiSC Workplace Certification course and pass the exam. Have a discussion with Wiley to see if this meets your needs. Receive and sign the Everything DiSC Workplace Certification License Agreement. Purchase the number of desired seats (minimum of 5) for your forthcoming courses (2-year expiration). After invoiced, Partner receives a serial number to download all Wiley master materials including: an Annotated Facilitator Workbook, participant workbook, PowerPoint slides, best practices, logos, and translation glossary (available for limited languages). Schedule time for course education. Complete training for the Online Training Center. Receive Everything DiSC Manuals. You re all set! Organize training courses to meet your client needs! Call us with questions and when trainee seats are consumed. If you need more trainee seats just let us know! 1
How do I get started? If the FAQ s don t answer your immediate questions, or if you re ready to discuss licensing, please don t hesitate to contact Yvonne Johnson, Director of Education at yjohnson@ wiley.com or Does this cover education on the other Everything DiSC products? This license currently only applies to Everything DiSC Workplace. What is the overall course objective? This course will help build confidence and competence when facilitating the Everything DiSC Workplace program while helping the participant meet the needs of their particular audience. Who is the ideal client for the Everything DiSC Workplace Certification? Anyone planning to facilitate, coach, or train Everything DiSC Workplace to individuals, groups and/or organizations who wants participants to receive the credential of Certified Everything DiSC Workplace Facilitator. The Everything DiSC Workplace Certification Course From the Partner s perspective What is required for the Partner to deliver this course? In order to license this program, the Partner and/or whoever is delivering the course on behalf of the Partner, must have participated and passed the online Everything DiSC Workplace Certification course hosted by Wiley. What is the focus of the Certification content? This course has a high focus on facilitation whether in the classroom or facilitating a oneon-one coaching session, facilitators at all levels have much to gain from this program. The Online Training Center coursework provides foundational information that is relevant to all learners joining the live classroom. More details found on Mindlabconnect.com Can I customize the program/materials? Yes, to a degree. You can customize the classroom portion (NOT the Online Training Center) of this program for your particular audience. 2
Be aware that the exam will test a participant s knowledge of the core certification content. Therefore, if you change too much this could adversely impact exam results. What if one of my clients fails the exam? If a person does not pass the exam, they will be given a second opportunity. Due to the rigor of the exam, we request that it is taken within 72 hours of completing the live classroom training and suggest participants allow at least 60 minutes to complete. The exam contains 40 multiple-choice and true/false questions. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass. Participants are allowed to use all resources provided throughout Certification during their exam (open book). What facilitation experience should Partners clients have for this program? All facilitators are welcome, regardless of experience. Relatively inexperienced facilitators may need to spend more time completing the online activities to feel prepared for the in-person session as they will be asked to present in front of the group. This course does not teach basic facilitation skills. It is designed to educate trainers, coaches and facilitators who plan to use the Everything DiSC Workplace program. From the Client s perspective What kind of credential will my client receive? At the successful conclusion of this course, participants will earn the Wiley credential of Certified Everything DiSC Workplace Facilitator. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion and logo, which may be used for LinkedIn or other social media outlets. Is re-certification required? No. This is a one-time certification and the credential does not expire. Why pre-work/online coursework? Pre-work is an essential and integral part of the blended learning experience as it gives participants knowledge that will aid when asked to present content during the in-person session. What is the post-work? The post-work consists of an exam, course evaluation, and ongoing access to the Online Training Center and all its resources. 3
How long does the required online coursework take to complete? The required online coursework in our Online Training Center will take approximately 2 hours (depending on previous DiSC knowledge and language) prior to the live classroom experience. The online coursework consists of taking an Everything DiSC Workplace assessment as well as exploring foundational DiSC concepts through a series of interactives. The post-work is comprised of an online exam. We recommend setting aside an hour to complete the exam and a quick evaluation form. Why an exam? The final step in obtaining the credential of Certified Everything DiSC Workplace Facilitator is to take a comprehensive final exam. This enables Wiley to ensure that anyone holding this credential has reached a certain level of demonstrated comprehension. This exam is administered through the Online Training Center and is available upon completion of the online pre-work, two day course and after completing a course evaluation. This is a rigorous exam and successful completion will demonstrate comprehension that will prove helpful in facilitating this program. What if my client has already completed an Everything DiSC Workplace assessment, can they use that during the Certification? Yes as long it s been completed after July 21, 2012 when adaptive testing was incorporated into the assessment and facilitation. Be mindful that participant results/assessments must reside in Partner s primary EPIC account in order to run/generate/print Profiles, Supplement for Facilitator Reports, Comparison Reports, and Group Culture and Facilitator Reports. As a Wiley best practice, we strongly recommend the facilitator assign new assessments to participants to ensure the most up-to-date and reliable result. Can my client use their Everything DiSC Workplace assessment in a different language? Yes as long as it was completed after July 21, Be mindful that Comparison Reports will not generate in separate languages if run between English and another language as gender pronouns were removed from English Comparison Reports and Supplement for Facilitator Reports. When trying to generate a Comparison Report between English and another language the English version will only generate. 4
Cost & Resources How will Partners be billed? Licensed seats are purchased upfront and Wiley will charge the Partner s credit card on file at the time of purchase for all seats purchased. What is the financial investment required by Partners? Once a license is approved, Wiley charges $600 USD per seat. A minimum of five seats must be purchased as an initial investment. A Partner purchasing 50 or more seats at one time will pay $300 USD per seat. Do I have to use all the trainee seats purchased at once? No. A partner can use the seats whenever they wish. However, there is a two-year expiration on every seat purchased. If I run out of seats, can I purchase more? Yes! After the initial investment of 5 seats, Partner is able to purchase one seat at a time for $600 USD. Are there additional costs a Partner should consider? Yes. At the time the Partner runs the course, they will be responsible for purchasing EPIC credits and sending access codes via the Partner s own EPIC account. The Partner should consider and is responsible for the cost of the training venue, food and beverage, and all required printed materials. Wiley recommends an Everything DiSC Group Culture and Facilitator Report be generated for every class (25 credits per report). How will I know how many seats I ve used? Partners will be able to monitor trainee numbers via the Online Training Center. Wiley will also monitor usage. How much time should the facilitator expect to invest from course start to finish? As facilitator experience and class size can vary it is impossible to estimate the exact number hours a facilitator might spend from start to finish. Anticipate a significant amount of time spent preparing for delivering and wrapping up each event. 5
Wiley recommends facilitator take into account time that is required for: º Communicating with course participants º Sending out course information º Tracking down assessment completion º Creating and compiling assessments and reports º Training preparation time º Venue management with set up and take down º Post-work and follow up for each event Logistics & Resources OK, I signed the Agreement how do I let Wiley know I want to start a course? Partners will be asked to submit a roster of those they are enrolling in a course on the enrollment date two to three weeks prior to event. The roster will be cross-checked by Wiley and with those participants added to the Training Center. Partner must inform Wiley of the seats used on this enrollment date. Will Wiley print the reports, workbooks, etc. for my classroom event? No. Facilitators are responsible for printing/reproducing all the materials. Wiley will provide the electronic masters and all the required content as part of the licensing agreement. How do my clients receive the Everything DiSC Manual? Wiley will ship the facilitator one manual for every seat purchased. These will be sent within a week of purchase. Partner will be responsible for distributing the manuals to course participants. What is the Online Training Center? The Online Training Center provides the best in online blended learning! It will help levelset participant knowledge before entering the live session and will serve as an ongoing resource. This is also where the course evaluation and final exam are located. How long will my clients have access to the Online Training Center? Indefinite. Participants will have unlimited access to the Online Training Center. 6
If I change my mind and I haven t used my seats, can I get a refund? No. Refunds, returns, and exchanges are not accepted. What if a participant doesn t complete the course I am running? This will still count as a seat taken. If you enroll the same participant in a future session, there will not be an additional seat charge from Wiley. How much should I charge my clients? The suggested retail cost of the course is $2,495 USD (excluding kit). This is the same cost as the courses taught by Wiley. Why do my participants need access to an Everything DiSC Workplace kit? The kit is the core to facilitating the Everything DiSC Workplace program and it is therefore required that the Certified Everything DiSC Workplace Facilitator have access to a kit. If the client does not already own a kit, the client can purchase a kit via the Partner prior to the course. What about last minute cancellations? We encourage you to establish cancellation terms and conditions with your clients who enroll in this course. Once a participant is enrolled in the Online Training Center, Wiley considers the seat purchased and will be deducted from the number of seats licensed. How long does the license last? The license can be cancelled by either party as per the terms of the agreement. There is no expiration of the license agreement; however the seats purchased by the Partner expire after two years. Any seats not used will expire after 2 years as well. How long do the seats last? The seats expire two years from date of purchase. Will Wiley notify me when a seat about to expire? While this is the Partner s primary responsibility, Wiley will notify Partner of remaining seats 6 months before expiration. 7
What can I use to promote this program to my clients? Wiley will provide logos for marketing purposes. Partners are able to create and/or translate their own marketing materials. What is the recommended class size? We recommend a minimum class size of 5-12 participants. If a facilitator wants to hold a large class, we recommend no more than 24 participants. This will allow for participation, great conversation, feedback opportunities, and a friendly experience. Translation Can I translate the program/materials? Yes, to a degree. Partners may translate the classroom portion of this program only NOT the Online Training Center. What is the process for translation? This will be discussed in detail with each partner contemplating translation. Key steps to be aware of: º Where a glossary is provided by Wiley, Partner must use the glossary for key terms. º All translated materials must be used only in conjunction with this course. º Partner cannot translate any contents of the Online Training Center, including the º exam. º Partner will provide Wiley with all translated training, marketing, and promotional º materials in electronic format to protect the integrity of the Certification. Do I own the material I translate? No. As per the Agreement, Wiley is the sole owner of all rights in the Training materials, Training Center, and Wiley trademarks. Materials may only be reproduced in conjunction with the Everything DiSC Workplace Certification course by licensed Partners. Will my clients receive a logo? Yes. Upon successful completion of the course your participants will be provided a certificate of completion and a logo that can be downloaded. Participants will find their logo in the Training Center upon meeting all requirements of the course. 8
Wiley Support What support does Wiley offer with the training materials? Partner will receive education from Wiley on the certification materials including the Annotated Facilitator Workbook, participant workbook, PowerPoints, best practices, etc. What support does Wiley offer with the Online Training Center? Partner will receive training and a user guide from Wiley on the administration of the Online Training Center. Will Wiley co-facilitate with me? Wiley Education Team is happy to offer consultative support as you go through this experience. However, the package is designed to give you the resources to independently offer this course to your clients. Additional support may be possible based on facilitator availability, location, and at an additional cost. Please contact Yvonne Johnson at yjohnson@wiley.com or to discuss details. 9
