Michelle Singer (Navajo) Project Manager, Native OHSU in Portland, Oregon More than 25 years of experience in community outreach to tribal communities; Has fostered partnerships and community relations with intergovernmental entities and tribal non-profit organizations; Worked on Capitol Hill as a policy advisor, and; Two tribal colleges and an off-reservation boarding school.

15 Evaluation Findings 1. Students demonstrated significant improvements in knowledge of: STD/HIV/AIDS Prevention Reproductive Health Healthy Relationships 2. Tribal youth reported providing 1-on-1 peer education and referrals. 3. Adult facilitators learned how to better communicate & teach about sensitive topics. 4. Program was well received; recognition in addressing critical gaps in sexual health education.

23 Support Docs Required For a complete application 4 items needed : Copy of applicant s resume; Letter of Support from applicant s employer to attend the Native STAND one week training to ensure support for the implementation of Native STAND in applicant s community; Letter of Support from the community or organization with whom applicant plans to implement the Native STAND curriculum; A personal statement of applicant s ability to complete the weeklong training program AND a description of the organizational setting to implement & deliver Native STAND curriculum.
