LIEDEL, M.D. Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Children's Program 7707 SW Capitol Hwy August Present The Children's Program is a multidiscipline outpatient clinic, serving children from infancy through school age with developmental disabilities, learning disorders, and behavior problems. Clinical duties include medical and developmental diagnostics and treatment, education, and family counseling. Clinical problems include developmental delays and disabilities, mental retardation, autism, speech and language disorders, learning disabilities, attention deficit and hyperactivity, encopresis, and enuresis. Some of this work is done on a contractual basis for various school districts and departments of special education. The Children's Program is a feefor-service specialty clinic which is known for its flexibility and innovative approach to service delivery. Autism Clinic Child Developmental and Rehabilitation Center Doernbecher Children s Hospital January 2004 Present Clinical evaluation of preschool-aged children suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorders in this multidiscipline clinic. Clinical duties include evaluation of a broad range of developmental disorders in children, and include teaching pediatrics residents and medical students. This is a transdisciplinary, diagnosis-by-consensus clinic which involves working together with psychologists, speech and language pathologists, audiologists, and occupational therapists. Course in Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology Harvard Medical School Massachusetts General Hospital. March This is an intensive course on the use of psychotropic medication in children and adolescents, including a review of all relevant medical research and recommended treatment protocols. Children's Program, formerly of Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center January August 1987 The program established itself independent of the hospital in August Pediatrics Consultant Multnomah County Education Service District Serving on a multidiscipline diagnostic team seeing referrals from local schools to special educational program of county school system. Developmental Pediatrician Developmental Disabilities Clinic Kaiser-Permanente Medical Program August July 1983 Medical staffing of this multidiscipline child development clinic of a large medical care program in the health maintenance organization model. Developmental Pediatrician Children's Neuropsychiatric Unit Good Samaritan Hospital January July 1981 This was an inpatient program for children with complex neurological and psychiatric disorders. The position included working together with Pediatric Neurologists and Child Psychiatrists, and involved familiarity with the use of EEG Video Telemetry. Primary emphasis on neurologic disease, seizure disorders, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, learning and behavior disabilities, visual and hearing impairments. Senior Registrar to Paediatrics Consultant to Moorfield's Eye Hospital October October 1979 Served as Senior Registrar to consultant to children's services at this large Ophthalmic Hospital. This consisted of aspects of Medical Genetics, Paediatric Neurology, family counseling, educational planning, and developmental assessment and early intervention for infants and children with severe visual impairments. Course in Paediatric Neurology Institute of Child Health April 1979 Comprehensive two-week post-graduate course covering all aspects of Paediatric Neurology, including both didactic and clinical material. Course in Developmental Assessment Newcomen Child Development Center The Guy's Hospital March 1979 One-week course for physicians, covering approaches to developmental assessment of infants and preschool-age children, including techniques of hearing and vision assessment. Both didactic and clinical materials presented. Fellow in Child Development Crippled Children's Division Child Development and Rehabilitation Center Oregon Health Sciences University July July 1978 Experience as Pediatrician in a multidiscipline clinical setting, serving children with developmental disabilities and their families. Included working with children with cerebral palsy, meningomyelocele, mental retardation, learning disabilities, neurologic and muscular diseases, behavioral and psychiatric disorders, language and hearing disorders, and developmental delay. Included clinical teaching of residents and medical students and lecturing on related topics at the Center, at meetings and at local universities. Also served as consultant to a local preschool for children with developmental disabilities and consultant to state Vocational Rehabilitation Division.
