This interactive presentation includes reflection on personal values, exploration of interests, and discussion on personality preferences. Globalization & Me: How & Why to Prepare Today for Tomorrow Office of International Education Dr. Piram Prakasam (or OIE Staff) X 5290 prakasp@ferris.edu An interactive presentation that will help students think about how to prepare for the ever changing global economy using opportunities available on campus. This presentation will help students to go beyond by connecting General Education, RSOs, scholarship opportunities and experiential learning to prepare today for the hyper connected world in which they will have to thrive. Learning Preferences Students will learn how to work with their sensory strengths to improve their study skills. This interactive workshop allows students to assess how they integrate their senses with information absorption and to enhance their study skill efficiency. Test Anxiety We will discuss how people create their own anxiety issues. This is a 50 minute classroom presentation workshop. The class will brainstorm various ways to combat anxiety and stress. Study Skills This interactive talk introduces effective study skills for the university learning environment. Skills include improved textbook comprehension, note taking, test preparation, and test anxiety reduction skills Student as a Learner We all have unique ways of learning. This interactive workshop uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to provide students with a tool to better understand how they learn best.
