4 Biographical Note George Jones became a member of Ball State University's faculty in 1964, acting as director of religious programs and activities, and professor of higher education. Jones was very involved in relgious organizations on campus, and in Delaware County. From 1968 to 1970 he was president of the Association for the coordination of University Religious Affairs, and he was elected chairman of the Indiana Office of Campus Ministry in 1978, to name just a couple of the organizations with which he was involved. Jones was also interested in student life on campus and was a representative to the Council of Student Personnel Associations in Higher Education from 1966 to 1971, and served as an advisor to the freshmen academic honorary society, Alpha Lambda Delta. Jones retired from Ball State in the spring of Scope and Contents This collection includes faculty papers and other files from George Jones ranging from 1961 to 1995 regarding Jones' career at Ball State University, and his involvement in religious organizations, both at Ball State, as well as in and around Delaware County and the State of Indiana. Also included are files containing information on Jones' work with student activities and affairs on campus, including his time as advisor to Alpha Lambda Delta. Additionally, Jones was a member of several national and local community organizations, and included in his files are reports, speeches, and other papers related to his work with those associations and groups. The files are organized into four separate additions, and the files in each addition are arranged alphabetically.
