Approval of the Agenda Approval of the Minutes of the regular meeting held on October 3, 2016, and the special meeting held on October 7, V. Report of the Superintendent VI. VII. VIII. Financial Report and Cash Balances Approval of the Payrolls Business A. New Business for Transaction 1. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to amend the annual salary schedule effective November 8, 2016: To set a stipend rate for participants and presenters for Blount County Board of Education professional development activities To increase school bus driver pay for field trips and extracurricular trips: in-county trips to $45.00 and out-of-county trips to $65.00

2 2. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to award the food service equipment bid opened on October 6, 2016, for a combi-oven at Appalachian High School to Bresco. 3. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement between the Blount County Board of Education and the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS) for a part-time twelve-month pre-employment transition specialist for FY Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a service agreement between the Blount County Board of Education and Milestones Behavior Group, Inc. 5. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to approve the following field trip requests: Hayden High School varsity boys basketball team (12) to go to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, December 26-30, Cleveland Elementary School 6th grade students (73) to go to Camp Cosby, Alpine, Alabama, April 12-14, Susan Moore Elementary School 6th grade students (80) to go to Camp Cosby, Alpine, Alabama, May 3-5, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow the Cleveland High School Booster Club to pay Tiffany Sherbert $50.00 per home basketball game, not to exceed a total of $800.00, to clean Cleveland High School s gymnasium during the school year from the Cleveland High School Athletic Booster Club account. 7. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Blountsville Elementary School to enter into a contract with Herff Jones, Inc. for the yearbook publication. The total amount of this contract will be paid from Blountsville Elementary School s local funds. 8. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Susan Moore Elementary School to enter into a contract with Herff Jones, Inc. for the

3 yearbook publication. The total amount of this contract will be paid from Susan Moore Elementary School s local funds. 9. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Southeastern School to enter into a contract with Picaboo Yearbook Publishing for the yearbook publication. The total amount of this contract will be paid from Southeastern School s local funds. 10. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to approve the following non-compensated volunteers for the school year: Appalachian High School Daniel Davis Softball Hayden High School Ashley Day Band Locust Fork High School Jeremy Camp Tracy Camp Fishing Team Fishing Team 11. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education and Randy Bolzle to serve as a credit recovery tutor for Hayden High School beginning November 8, 2016, and ending April 28, The total amount of the contract will be paid from Hayden High School s local Title I funds. 12. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education and Jeremy Penny to serve as a credit recovery tutor for Hayden High School beginning November 8, 2016, and ending April 28, The total amount of the contract will be paid from Hayden High School s local Title I funds. 13. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Carolyn Rebecca Hargett, a Physical Education aide at Hayden Middle School, to work the admission gate for all of Hayden High School s home basketball games during the

4 season. For this service, Ms. Hargett will be paid at her regular hourly rate plus time and one-half for all hours exceeding 40 within the workweek from Hayden High School s local funds. 14. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Hayden High School to pay Robert Bradford $25.00 per game to announce all of Hayden High School s varsity basketball home games during the season from Hayden High School s local school funds. 15. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Hayden High School to pay Terri Bibb $ per game to work the concession stand at all of Hayden High School s home basketball games during the season from Hayden High School s local funds. 16. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education and Denise McMullin, a teacher at Locust Fork High School, to provide homebound services to a Locust Fork High School student beginning November 7, 2016, and ending with the conclusion of the school year. 17. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education and Mitchie Neel for consulting and administrative services beginning October 1, 2016, and ending September 30, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to accept the resignation of Edward Daryl Burnham, a Physical Education/Driver Education teacher at Susan Moore High School, effective November 7, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to accept the resignation of Melissa S. Bush, an English Language Arts teacher at Susan Moore High School, effective December 16, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to grant a medical leave of absence to Ronnie Chappell, welding instructor at the Blount County Career Technical Center, beginning September 26, 2016, and ending October 14, 2016.

7 ADDENDUM TO THE BLOUNT COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION AGENDA NOVEMBER 7, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education and Brittney Henderson a teacher at Hayden Middle School to provide homebound services to a Hayden Middle School student beginning November 8, 2016, and ending with the conclusion of the school year. 40. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education and Ashton Broadhead along with Nancy Caffe to provide homebound services to a Bridge Academy student beginning November 8, 2016, and ending with the conclusion of the school year. 41. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to enter into a contract between the Blount County Board of Education and Nancy Caffee along with Rosa Noles to provide homebound services to a Bridge Academy student beginning November 8, 2016, and ending with the conclusion of the school year. 42. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to allow Locust Fork High School to enter into a contract with Walsworth Publishing for the yearbook publication. The total amount of this contract will be paid from Locust Fork High School s local funds. 43. Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to grant a medical leave of absence to Johnathan Morgan, a teacher at Locust Fork High School, beginning October 28, 2016, and ending November 25, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to grant a medical leave of absence to Vickie Morris, INOW manager at Susan Moore Elementary School, beginning November 21, 2016, and ending January 9, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to extend Debra Proctor s medical leave of absence through December 16, Consider approving the Superintendent s recommendation to grant a medical leave of absence to Madeline Woodham, a teacher at Southeastern School, beginning November 14, 2016, and ending January 20, 2017.
