11 Community Rela ons and Veterans Commission The Community Relations and Veterans Commission addresses the needs and concerns of senior adults, the disabled, veterans, and the community-at-large, and promotes positive community relations in the City of La Mesa. Agendas are available on the City of La Mesa website and typically will include a guest speaker on a variety of topics. The Commission meets at the Adult Enrichment Center on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM. Upcoming meetings: Wednesday, May 23 & Wednesday, June 27 at 5:30 pm Call for more informa on La Mesa Pickleball If you are looking for a way to stay active and get a great workout, try Pickleball. This fun game keeps the muscles moving and most importantly keeps players entertained while enjoying the great outdoors. Come join the fun at Collier Park at 4401 Palm Ave on Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday mornings. Intermediate/Advanced level is played at 8:30 am and Beginners play at 10:00 am. Players must bring their own paddles and balls. Call for more information Since 2009, Drew Bandish has offered art lessons with the City of La Mesa's summer program as a freelance contract instructor. Drew dedicates his art teaching to helping others gain more pleasure, confidence and skill at drawing and pain ng their own pictures in all media. He is especially proud of the numerous success stories among his students several are now regularly winning awards in local shows!
