2 Welcome to our ACCORD Saint Nicolas Summer Campus for students aged The ACCORD Saint Nicolas Summer Campus is located in a quiet and charming area in southern Paris with easy access to the heart of the city. The best of both worlds: the perfect place to learn French close to the most beautiful capital in the world! Young students come here time and time again to improve their French skills, take part in exciting activities, visit Paris attractions and make new friends from all over the world. Students stay in four-bed single sex rooms with shared bathroom facilities on each floor. Where possible and on request, ACCORD Paris will do its utmost to place friends and relatives in the same room however we prefer students of various nationalities to share rooms to encourage French speaking at all times. Sheets and towels are provided and changed every week. Rooms are cleaned every week. A weekly laundry service is also provided. The cafeteria serves a wide variety of healthy and balanced dishes and takes dietary requirements into account. Students have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant on a daily basis and meals are replaced by packed lunches during excursions. Students are also provided with an afternoon snack. Saint Nicolas Summer Campus is a modern building with quality facilities: bedrooms, classrooms, cafeteria, TV room, large sports hall for playing volleyball, basketball, handball, badminton and more! Students are supervised 24 hours a day as we want to make sure our students have a pleasant and worry-free stay. Our students when going out on excursions are always accompanied and supervised by members of staff. Our teachers and team leaders are involved in the students everyday lives and make sure all steps are taken to ensure they are having a great time whilst their parents know they can trust us completely with their children s welfare. Our French lessons are taught by experienced and qualified French teachers specialised in teaching younger students. Students have 15 hours of French lessons per week in classes with a maximum of 15 international students (average: 11). On the first day, students take an evaluation test. Groups of the same linguistic level are formed based on the outcome of the test. French lessons at Saint Nicolas Summer Campus are based on the Play and Learn concept meaning that classes are fun and interactive to encourage students to use French and improve their language skills. Teaching is based on oral communication with the help of authentic materials such as magazines, songs, films, games, etc. At the end of the course, each student receives an End of Course Certificate stating the level they have achieved. 3 Trips & Activities ACCORD Saint Nicolas Summer Campus has the best of both worlds in terms of activities: sports and fun on campus plus excursions to the city of Paris! On arrival, students register for the afternoon activities they wish to take part in, for example: Sports (football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, etc.) Art Classes (painting, mask making, drawing, etc.) Music/Singing Workshops Theatre/Drama Workshops Dance Workshops (hip-hop, French cancan, salsa, etc.) Multimedia Workshops including video clips, stop motion films, etc. Treasure Hunts, and so much more! Students at ACCORD Saint Nicolas Summer Campus also go on three half-day excursions per week to fascinating locations such as the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysées, Notre Dame cathedral, Montmartre, the Sacré Coeur basilica and lots more. There are also optional cultural activities available: Full day at Disneyland Paris (including packed lunch, dinner, night parade, fireworks, return transfer by private coach) Full day at Asterix leisure park (including packed lunch, dinner, return transfer by private coach) Full day at the Loire Valley Castles (including visit of Chambord and Blois castles, sightseeing tour of the city of Blois, packed lunch, dinner, return transfer by private coach) Accord Saint Nicolas Summer School for students aged 6-12 and The ACCORD Saint Nicolas Summer school is perfect for parents who are visiting Paris and wish their children to take a French language course during their stay. Children from the age of 6 can join the classes at the Saint Nicolas Summer Campus. Would you like to learn French in the same location as your children? Or would you like your children to learn French whilst you are busy doing other things in the morning? ACCORD Saint Nicolas Summer Campus has the solution for you. We offer French for the Family courses at the ACCORD Saint Nicolas campus with 15 hour or 20 hour French courses for children and their parents. Children from the age of 6 can join the course. All lessons take place in the morning leaving you free to take your family into the heart of Paris to explore the stunning sites together. Families can also stay at the Adagio Porte de Versailles**** residence which is within walking distance of the ACCORD Saint Nicolas Summer School. The residence offers easy access to the centre of Paris (metro line 8) and is near the Parc des Expositions and Palais des Sports. The Aquaboulevard watersports centre is only five minutes walk from the residence. There are many options available from studios to 6 people apartments.
