Places are limited and those who have applied and been interviewed will be given priority. Please note we will be open from 10am-7pm on GCSE Results Day Thursday 22 August 2013*. *This is for School Leavers ONLY. 5 COURSE GUIDE WHAT DO I NEED TO PAY? DID YOU KNOW THAT MANY OF OUR FULL AND PART TIME COURSES ARE FREE OR DISCOUNTED?* Fees for part time day and evening courses are listed in the brochure. However many people will be eligible for free or discounted study. Tuition is FREE for: year olds Anyone aged years studying a full time Entry Level/Level 1 Foundation Learning Course and does not have a prior Level 2 qualification Learners undertaking a First Full Level 2 qualification aged (FFL2) Learners undertaking a First Full Level 3 qualification aged (FFL3) Skills for Life (literacy or numeracy) courses GCSE English & Maths where a learner does not currently hold a Grade C in these subjects Those in receipt of Job Seeker s Allowance and Employment Support Allowance (work related activity groups) Unemployed adults on other benefits (see Benefit Table on page 7) who are undertaking a course to improve their ability to gain employment Those earning less than 21,000 per annum* and studying a funded course (leading to a qualification). In addition DISCOUNTED tuition is available to: Those 19 and over studying a second or subsequent Full Level 2 a 99 tuition fee is payable Those studying a second or subsequent FULL Level 3 a 99 tuition fee is payable Those 19+ studying a Course Funded through Lancashire County Council Adult Learning Service and in receipt of active benefits or on a low income may be eligible to pay a reduced fee of 5. 6 Advanced Learning Loans New loans available to help you pay your course fees! If you re planning to study at Level 3 or Level 4 and starting a course on or after 1 August 2013 you may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. TO QUALIFY FOR THE LOAN YOU MUST BE: aged 24 and over at the start of your course a resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of the course never previously had a loan to do the same qualification type and level of qualification. DID YOU KNOW? You don t have to repay the loan until you start earning a minimum of 21,000 per year, and even then the repayments are low. Call the Learner Gateway on to find out how you can apply.

Learners born in the EU / EEA For those Learners born in the EU / EEA please provide proof that you were born in the EU (passport, birth certificate etc.) Additional costs - uniforms, kits and materials Some courses require you to purchase the appropriate kit, uniform or materials. You will be advised on how to order and costs prior to the start of the course. Paying for your course Course fees are payable at enrolment. If the annual course fee payable by you is over 200, you may be able to pay by instalments** see table below (subject to agreement at enrolment). If your course fee is being paid by a third party (e.g employer) you will be given the appropriate documentation at enrolment. Payment of Exam/Registration/ Certification The Exam/Registration/Certification fee listed in the brochure is payable by ALL learners and 24+.
