Faculty and students engage with the business community, local government, and regulatory agencies as part of the teaching-learning process. Oklahoma City University embraces the United Methodist tradition of scholarship and service and welcomes all faiths in a culturally rich community dedicated to student success. 3 Background The Meinders School of Business -The school of business at Oklahoma City University was established in 1946, although a Bachelor of Science in Business (BSB) degree was first offered in Reflecting the university s move to fewer required general education hours, allowing additional hours in the business core and majors, the BSB was changed to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in The Master of Business Administration (MBA) began in ; the Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) commenced in ; and the Master of Science in Energy Management began in January In 2002, Herman Meinders executed an agreement with the University to provide all of the funding necessary to acquire the land and construct a new 80,000 square foot building for the school of business. In recognition of this donation, it was agreed that the project would be named the Meinders School of Business. The school of business is comprised of four academic departments: Department of Management and Marketing; Department of Economics and Finance; Department of Accounting; and Department of Technology and Software Engineering. The school of business houses the Student Success Center, the Steven C. Agee Economic Research & Policy Institute (ERPI) and the Love s Entrepreneurship Center. The Student Success Center provides undergraduate and graduate students with advisory services related to classes, schedules, tracking of student outcomes, and counseling of financial services in conjunction with the University s Director of Student Financial Services. The Economic Research & Policy Institute has, as its Executive Director and Associate Director, Ph.D. economists who engage and employ undergraduate and graduate students in conducting economic impact studies, forecasting, modeling, and providing consulting services for businesses, local and state governments, and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, consistent with the school s mission. The Love s Entrepreneurship Center supports student learning opportunities and activities related to entrepreneurship and creativity such as student team competition in the annual Donald W. Reynolds Governor s Cup and the Love s Center Entrepreneurship Day, where prominent and successful entrepreneurs come to campus to make presentations about their careers. The school of business has both an Executive Advisory Board and a Student Advisory Board. The Executive Advisory Board consists of approximately fifty community and business leaders in the metropolitan area and the Student Advisory Board consists of both undergraduate and graduate students from the school of business. Both boards provide the Dean with input, suggestions and advice on a wide array of subjects involving the mission of the school, its strategic plan and tactical actions, assistance on attracting new students, retaining existing students, establishing internships, and funding of business school programs and activities. Both boards meet twice a semester and discuss issues relevant to their interests and to the school of business. These boards are important stakeholders and are highly involved in the effort by the school to build continuous improvement. Impact The Meinders School of Business received worldwide recognition in 2014 by being accredited by the AACSB, International (Association to Accredit Collegiate Schools of Business). Out of nearly 16,000 business schools worldwide, only 716 have been accredited by AACSB, placing the Meinders School of Business in the top 4.5% of all business schools globally. In 2015, U.S. News & World Report ranked the Meinders School of Business at OCU as one of the best online graduate business programs in the United States. Needs Undergraduate and graduate student scholarships is the principal need for the Meinders School of Business. Endowed faculty chairs is also a principal need. Contributions to the Dean's Excellence Fund provides the Dean with flexibility in funding student scholarships, faculty research, and attendance at conference proceedings. Area Served Area Served 3

Agee, Ph.D. is the Dean of the Meinders School of Business. Dr. Agee earned a B.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1975, a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Kansas in 1979, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Kansas in Dr. Agee started XAE Corporation, a privately owned oil & natural gas exploration company in 1982, and served as its President and COO for twenty-four years. XAE sold to Canaan Resources in Dr. Agee joined the faculty of the Meinders School of Business in 2008, and became Dean on November 1, Dr. Agee also served six years on the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Oklahoma City Branch, with the last three years as Chairman of this Board. Dr. Agee has served on many philanthropic boards in Oklahoma including the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Society, Allied Arts, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, and El Sistema Oklahoma. While running XAE Corporation, Dr. Agee also served on the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association Board and the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board; the latter for which he served three years as Chairman.
