Box 392 Rachel Kamakana Thomas Trade Center Hawaiians, American Indians, or native Alaskans (18 years or older) who are unemployed seven consecutive days, underemployed or economically disadvantaged Workplace (on-the-job training) 9 th grade through adult Classes, on-the-job training Monday-Friday: 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m. Classroom training, on-the-job training, community service employment, and work experience programs prepare unskilled adults for entry into the labor force. Job training is afforded to those economically disadvantaged individuals and others facing serious barriers to employment who are in special need of training to obtain productive employment.

Box 392 Jeanette Kahalehoe Thomas Trade Center Native Hawaiian, 60 years old and over Reading, Writing, Math, Senior Citizen Educational Activities Senior Citizens Classes, activities, referrals Monday-Friday: 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m. This program provides services to native Hawaiian elderly: activities center open Monday through Friday, outreach services, health and nutrition services, cultural and educational activities, information and referral. Part of the program includes classes in basic literacy skills.

Box 392 Edmund Pedro Thomas Trade Center Hawaiians, American Indians, or Native Alaskans who are economically disadvantaged and 14 to 21 years old Workplace (pre-employment and on-the-job training) 9 th grade through 12 th grade Classes, on-the-job training Monday-Friday: 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m. Classroom, on-the-job training, and work experience opportunities are provided to prepare unskilled youths for entry into the job market.

Box 1950 Yvonne Friel Preschool to senior citizens Reading, Writing, Math, Tutor Training, Family Literacy, GED, English as a Second Language <3rd grade through 6 th grade Tutoring, Classes Monday-Friday: 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m. Monday, Wednesday evenings: 6:00p.m.-8:30p.m. Yes In addition to offering Adult Basic Education and Adult General Education classes, this community school provides one-to-one instruction by trained tutors in reading and writing for adults who are unable to read or have difficulty in reading.

Box 993 Lionida Molina Immigrants who cannot read or speak English well English as a Second Language, Citizenship <3 rd grade through 7 th grade Classes Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. (for elementary ages) Monday-Friday: 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (for older youth and adults) English as a Second Language (ESL) and citizenship classes are held for immigrants. Ages range from elementary grades through adults 50 years and over.

6 159 MAUI ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY Head Start Program (Molokai) (808) Mahalani St. Carnation Nanod Wailuku, HI Children three to five years old who are disabled, high risk, or whose families meet the poverty guidelines Early Childhood Education, Family Literacy Preschool and adult Classes, counseling, appointments Monday-Friday: 7:30a.m.-12:00p.m. (part day program) or 7:30a.m.-4:00p.m. (full day program) Head Start is a comprehensive program that offers education, nutrition, health, mental health, dental, parent involvement and social services assistance to the child and his/her family. The program is offered on Molokai and Maui and a partnership on Lanai.

Box 2055 Rusty Panui Adults and Out-of-school teens Reading, Writing, Family Literacy, Tutor Training, English as a Second Language <3 rd grade through 5 th grade Tutoring Monday-Friday: 9:00a.m.-4:00p.m. This program provides confidential, one-on-one tutoring by volunteer tutors. Tutoring is adjusted to individual s level, goal or need. Methods used are from Laubach Literacy Action and Literacy Volunteers of America. Students are referred by schools, agencies, literacy hotline, or services are initiated by personal contact.

Box 395 (808) (808) F Sri TenCate All ages Public library service Monday & Wednesday: 12:30p.m.-8:00p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00a.m.-5:00p.m. for enhanced services Molokai Public Library is one of 50 public libraries in the Hawaii State Public Library System. It houses books, magazines, and audio-visual materials and provides access to the statewide public library collection and the internet.

Box 1019 (808) Dan Aquino Disabled adults Workplace Skills (pre-employment and on-the-job training) for the Disabled Adult Evaluation, on-the-job training, job placement Monday-Friday: 8:00a.m.-4:00p.m. Vocational rehabilitation services at the facility include evaluation, training, placement, employment and other rehabilitation support activities to enable the disabled to attain optimal actualization of abilities and achieve improved life styles.
