15 Graduation Requirement #2: High School and Beyond Plan Created in Tech. Com. class and Advisory: Students develop a 4-year plan to meet Yelm High School credit requirements for graduation. Students explore and identify their postsecondary goals and create specific steps for achieving such goals (e.g. technical training, military service, university, community college, apprenticeship, work). Students present their Portfolios at Student Led Conferences.

16 Graduation Requirement #3: Culminating Project Take as a class your JR or SR year at YHS or complete as an independent study. Encourages students to think analytically, logically and creatively and to integrate experience and knowledge to solve problems. Gives students a chance to explore a topic in which they have great interest. Offers students an opportunity to apply their learning in a real world way.

17 Graduation Requirement #4: Certificate of Academic Achievement (CAA) The CAA is a designation on transcripts indicating students have demonstrated the set standard of knowledge in reading, writing, math, and science on the state assessment. High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE)- computer based replacement for the WASL projected to be in place for the Class of 2013 Student Learning Plan is required for each content area the student does NOT meet standard.
