2 Requirements to obtain the International Baccalaureate Diploma

3 IB Terms }IB DP-International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, a two year course of study (beginning junior year and ending senior year) }SL-Standard Level Exam taken after junior or senior year in selected subjects. }HL-Higher Level Exam taken after a two-year class; test out senior year only }EE-(Extended Essay) Core Requirement, 4,000-word independent, research paper; faculty mentor assigned for advisement }CAS-(Creativity, Activity & Service) Core Requirement; monitored in TOK class; Pass/Fail }TOK-(Theory of Knowledge) Core Requirement course; 1600-word mandatory essay }External Assessment-IB-scored / teachers submit predicted scores }Internal Assessment-Teacher-scored/IB may moderate scores

6 Three Core Requirements Approximately 18 months of Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) starts August, 2019 Extended Essay Theory of Knowledge Any student failing to complete all of the core requirements is disqualified from the IB Diploma

7 Points Towards the IB Diploma Students must score a minimum of 24 points Average 4 points each test for 6 tests Disqualification for a candidate who has gained fewer than 12 points on HL subjects (for candidates who register for four HL subjects, the three highest HL grades count). On a HL test, a score of 3 must be offset with a score of at least 5 on another HL test.
