Applications for the Booster Club Senior Scholarship are Available Now! $500 to 2 students. Pick up your application from Ms. Field Today! International Day: Is your club participating in April s International Day? Come afterschool Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to Room 17 to help LSU and Art Club with decorations! We re working hard designing each club s decorations, come by to give your input or help out! Class of 2018: Seniors, do you have some pictures or videos of your favorite high school memories? Key Club: Key Club will be selling deep fried Oreos this FRIDAY after school in A-Hall! The cost will be $2 for two Oreos and $4 for 5 Oreos! All the profit from the fundraiser will be donated to the March of Dimes and the Pediatric Trauma Program. Sports Cheer: Are you interested in joining the SJHS Cheerleading Team? or do you have what it takes to be the next Bulldog Mascot? Come to the Parent/Student Information Night TONIGHT at 7:00 pm in the Media Center. We will be discussing requirements and details regarding the Spirit Team season. 2 SJHS Robotics! The San José High Robotics Club will be at San Jose State University for the next two days competing with their robot! If you have a chance stop by after school Thursday from 3:30-6:30, Friday 3:30-6:00 pm, or Saturday 8:30 am - 12:00 pm. They are at the SJSU event center, it is a FREE event, just walk in and look for the Team 581 banner to find our Bulldogs! Mosaic Internship! Mosaic offers an introduction to reporting, news writing, photography, videography, web posting and blogging. The Mosaic class will produce a print and online newspaper. Teachers will be current and former journalists, assisted by Mosaic alumni who are college students or recent graduates. The student-adviser ratio will be approximately 4:1. Mosaic is free of charge to students and provides bus tokens. See Ms. Garcia-French in Room 24 for more details! CTE Silicon Valley Organization (SVO) is providing 5-6 weeks paid internship during the summer. This internship is available to current CTE students. The companies and organizations that will be hosting interns will primarily be located in Santa Clara County. Past employers include, Comcast, Hilton San Jose, Kaiser Permanente, Silicon Valley Business Journal, and the Valley Transportation Authority, etc. To apply click See Ms. Geeta for more information. STEM College Gateway Juniors and Seniors, do you want to earn college credits while you are a high school student? Do you want to study Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math? STEM College Gateway will be happening this summer, June 18 th through July 16 th from 9:00 am 3:00 pm at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE). It is open for any Juniors or Seniors, whether you are an SVCTE student or not. First come-first serve. Please see the flyer for more information. DREAMERS Conference! A conference from ALMASS is designed to provide young students with the resources and support to say YES WE WILL. Workshops include: Immigration Attorney Q&A, Dreamers in STEM, Parent Support, Know Your Rights, Mental Wellness, College Resources, Scholarships, Stanford Pre-Med Community College Program, Career Education Training, Dreamer Student Q&A, and many more!! College and Career Seniors! DeAnza College is having their New Student and Parent Open House on Saturday, April 28th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Prospective students and parents will have the opportunity to interact with faculty and staff, gather information about the different programs and services offered at DeAnza, have a guided campus tour, and be able to complete some of the enrollment steps. 8 Senior Scholarship SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY Want free money to help pay for college? There are multiple scholarships available for senior students at San José High. To be eligible you must be planning on attending a post-secondary institution by no later than September 2018 and submit an application. Applications can be picked up from Ms. Field in the Office. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TO MS. FIELD BY APRIL 6 TH AT 3:00 PM
