With orphanage personnel, conducted a needs assessment in a special needs orphanage in Guatemala in preparation for organization of a course which will include a collaborative service trip in 2010 with OT and PT students (in collaboration with Celia Pechak, PT). Needs assessment included evaluation of children in the orphanage and the environment to assess their individual needs (splinting, wheelchairs, adaptive equipment, gait training equipment, etc), and the needs of the environment and community (accessibility, access to needed services, funding for equipment, government support, etc).
