Block Schedules The Arts & Music Memorial s block schedule consists of seven 85-minute classes: four classes on one day (Blue Day), three on the next day (Red Day), and one day a week having all seven classes (White Day). There are two Blue Days, two Red Days and one White Day in a week. 2D & 3D Art Drama Drawing Film Production Glee-Choir Jazz Band Mosaics Painting Sculptures Theater Production Pottery Collaboration Block Red days are scheduled with an additional block called Collaboration, which allows you to seek tutoring and academic help from your teachers. Advanced Placement 23 AP/Honors courses in Art, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and World Language. Technology Memorial is committed to integrating technology into instruction and assessment with 2 computer labs and a state of the art Media Center. 1-to-1 ipad Program Memorial s vision statement calls to integrate state-of-the-art technology within the teaching and learning process maximizing the gifts and talents of this new generation. The 1-to-1 ipad program is integrated in curriculum and instruction providing an organized note-taking platform, online research tools and access to a learning management system building on the digital literacy skills of our students. The ipad is a formidable tool in advanced learning, making the classroom experience more dynamic and engaging. The faculty and staff at Memorial receive thorough training from Apple Distinguished Educators. Teachers also continue to work in professional learning communities in their subject area to find the best applications to integrate in the classroom. The 1-to-1 ipad program equips students with the knowledge and skills they will need both now and in the future.

Counseling Services Beginning freshman year, Memorial offers a comprehensive counseling program to address the needs of college prep students, including college planning, college readiness and test preparation. A Letter from the Principal There is always something going on at Memorial! From athletics, to activities, to clubs, there is something for everyone. Service & Community The 80 hours of ministry and service required from all students provides them with a myriad of opportunities to gain the skills and confidence needed to serve the less fortunate and become well-rounded, young adults. Immersion Students have the opportunity to experience immersion, an extensive service retreat where participants are provided with an unfamiliar experience seeking insight in areas of social justice, simple living, spirituality, community and service within the local context. Retreats Retreats establish a supportive and non-judgmental environment in which students have the chance to question and grow in their spirituality, while gaining a better understanding of themselves and their relationship with God. San Joaquin Memorial High School has a strong college preparatory program with many graduates attending America s top universities including the Ivy League schools, the University of California campuses and California s finest private colleges. Memorial offers 26 AP/Honors courses to prepare our students for the rigor of college. We have 45 faculty and administration members with 24 holding advanced degrees, to assure a top-notch education. We are also excited to introduce a new STEAM (Science, Technology, English, Agriculture, Mathematics) initiative at Memorial this year. We have completed the launch of a 1:1 ipad program, added a Robotics Club, and hope to build a stateof-the-art STEAM Center. In the next year we also hope to add FFA.
