2 message from the PRINCIPAL Having my 4 kids at Holy Redeemer is the best decision I ever made. My kids all love all of their teachers. Personally, Holy Redeemer is a blessing in our life. The principal is involved in everything and always available. Teachers and staff are so nice and work side-by-side with parents. Mrs. Perez, Parent I m excited to present you with our first annual report. As we look forward to the school year, we do so with the satisfaction of knowing that we have done our very best to live out the mission and root beliefs of Holy Redeemer Catholic School. HRCS educators continue to be committed to our Catholic mission, in order to improve our school academically, spiritually and physically. The school administration and faculty will continue to analyze data regarding our schools academic progress, through Standardized Tests, NWEA/MAP Progress Monitoring and classroom assessments, to determine best teaching strategies and address our student learning needs. Our school has established grade level Professional Learning teams, that are dedicated to clarifying essential learning targets, agree on common pacing, create formative assessments, and systematically respond when students are not learning. Our student s spiritual development grows every day with daily morning prayer, faith formation and on-going projects to ensure compassion for those in need, locally and globally. Students, across grade level, participated in activities reinforcing academics, spirituality, social skills and physical development. Commitment to learning, collaboration and critical thinking enabled our scholars to do an outstanding job of representing Holy Redeemer Catholic School in National organizations, County and State competitions, as well Diocesan events! This past year, our finances allowed us to install 31 state of the art video cameras and an upgraded privacy Pre-K playground fence, in order to ensure safety and security throughout our entire campus. We also increased our technology in classrooms, as well as programs to assure student success. We are thankful for our amazing faculty and staff who tirelessly dedicate their time and energy to our students and for our fantastic families who contribute their time, talents and treasures. As you read this report, I hope that you will gain a greater understanding as to how Holy Redeemer Catholic School is making a BIG DIFFERENCE in the lives of tomorrow s leaders. It is a pleasure to serve as Principal of Holy Redeemer Catholic School. I am grateful for a very successful year of learning and growth, as we continue the great legacy of Catholic education at Holy Redeemer. Peace in Christ, Gloria Del Orbe Principal Holy Redeemer Catholic School Pre-K through 8th Grade, the primary educational ministry of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, serves Catholic families in Osceola and neighboring counties, as well as others who embrace our philosophy of education. The school community instills a daily living and ever-growing knowledge of the Gospel message by creating a Catholic environment that empowers our students to reach their maximum potential spiritually, morally and academically. 3 Statistics about our school Holy Redeemer Catholic School has been serving students and their families in the Kissimmee and surrounding neighborhoods for over 20 years. Our goal for the year was to provide the best Catholic education for our students in an environment that allowed them to grow academically, physically and spiritually. Our commitment to our students begins with a faculty that is experienced, understanding and caring. They give our students the foundation for their development and prepare them for a successful future. 25 Teachers 300 Years of Experience 89% Student Retention 425 Students Enrolled Certified by the Florida Department of Education and with Bachelors degrees in their areas of specialty. Our Faculty has combined 300 years of experience in public and private schools. Student retention demonstrates the commitment of our families toward their children s education and growth. We are blessed with a growing and vibrant school proven by the increase in student enrollment. ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE Students across the Diocese of Orlando continue to excel academically. The ITBS scores for the year , show a composite average as a combination of 4 subjects: ELA, Math, Social Studies and Science. These scores prove that our students preparation at the Orlando Diocese outperformed students from other Catholic schools in the state of Florida. Furthermore, they surpassed the national averages. Lastly, these scores provide insight to our students progress through the years. As our students move through elementary and middle school, their academic development, based on the composite average, increases providing them the perfect foundation for high school and beyond. educating the mind, invigorating the body, and expanding the heart

4 ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE CELEBRATING OUR STUDENTS At HRCS, we provide opportunities for our students to demonstrate their academic knowledge by participating in various county, state and national competitions. Here are the highlights of our students accomplishments during students participated in the Sunshine State Young Readers. HRCS Battle of the Books team competed at the county level Invigorating extracurriculars 29 students were inducted in the BETA Club this year SiteUp Team became National Finalists at the BETA National Convention- 7 th in the Nation! 14 students participated in the Future Problem Solvers at the Orlando Science Center. 9 of them moved on to represent HRCS at the State level competition 8th Grader, Alyssa G., won the Women of Influence Essay contest from the Osceola Woman Magazine which she read at the Kissimmee City Hall and was published in the magazine during the Woman History Month of May Gabriel B., part of our BETA Club, participated in the National Beta Convention and won 1st Place in the 5th grade Social Studies category 2 students received 2 nd and 3 rd place in the Tropicana Speech Contest Competition Holy Redeemer provides multiple extracurricular activities. Our students can explore their God given talents through sports, drama, music and fine arts. The same way we excel academically, students at HRCS excelled in their extracurricular activities during the school year. Our students make us proud with their energy, positivity and teamwork. MADAGASCAR Over 50 students participated in our spring musical Madagascar. Everyone collaborated. Students had the opportunity to perform, assist with the stage production and design. DIOCESAN FINE ART SHOW Dozens of pieces of art demonstrated our students creative abilities. From painting, drawing, sculptures and photography, HRCS was well represented. Our 2 nd grade performed an amazing musical act. VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM At HRCS, we are proud of our athletic program but even more proud of our amazing athletes. Our Varsity Boys Basketball Team were crowned Champions in 2018!

5 HELPING OTHERS VOLUNTEERING & COMMUNITY SERVICE During the academic year, our HRCS community collects food items for the food pantry. This effort starts in the Fall and continues as a year-long project. All food collections go to families who are homeless in our community, families who have children and families of veterans. We asked each school family to fill a bag of non-perishable food for the initial kick-off in November. Each week thereafter, until the end of school, we encouraged students to bring food to take to mass on Fridays. These groceries go a long way to ensure that these families are not only fed over the holidays, but all year long. Our wonderful students, alumni and so many volunteers served a turkey lunch at the Holy Redeemer Lunch for Kissimmee s homeless and less fortunate. At HRCS, we also collected monthly Mission Drive collections for our Sister Diocese in the Dominican Republic. building our future through fundraising At HRCS, we are humbled by the continuous support of our parish community, parents, alumni and friends. Our Mardi Gras fundraising event continues to be the bond that gets us together to help HRCS grow for many years to come. This year we celebrated the culmination of Catholic Schools Week with our annual fundraising event themed around a casino games and Mardi Gras celebration. Our fundraising efforts contributed to our HRCS Endowment Fund. This fund will help HRCS continue its mission of educating the whole child in a faith-filled learning environment. We thank everyone that helped this year, one way or another, by giving their time, talent or treasure. Your contribution is making a difference! May God continue to bless you, your families and us.

6 school improvements and technology report At HRCS, we believe in the importance of staying current with technology and keeping our facility safe and secured for our students and staff. In , we made significant improvements to our facility. We upgraded our camera system and replaced the chain-link fence in the pre-school playground with a privacy fence. Technology Upgrade With Apple Products Our technology was also enhanced by adding few Apple products to our program. Among those improvements, we added 26 ipads, Apple Wi-Fi, Apple TVs, and a Lock-n- Charge cart that teachers can check out to use in their classrooms. We, also, invested in new Touch Boards for our second grade classrooms and Media Center. God in All Things
