2 Mission Statement The mission of the Silver City Police Department is to enforce the laws that the people have deemed necessary in the interest of public safety. These laws may be by Town Ordinance, State Law and the New Mexico and United States Constitutions. The mission philosophy is to enhance the quality of life in the community by working with the Town Administration, elected officials, general public and the community s s institutions to create a friendly relationship with the citizens of the business and private community.

3 Mission Statement The Silver City Police Department is dedicated to the community of Silver City and its citizens by joining them in providing effective, efficient, and equal 4 hour police service. With dedication to public service it is our goal to enhance the quality of life within the community by being share holders as well as public servants

4 Statistical Information The information in this presentation was gathered through the Silver City Police Department s Computer Aided Dispatching System and the Records Management System. Information was also obtained from Uniform Crime Reporting Documentation, NM Department of Transportation, The New Mexico Traffic Safety Bureau, T.A.CT & Associates Inc., Children's Youth and Families Division, and members of the Silver City Police Department. This information is being presented to the City Council, members of the media, and the citizens at large. As a disclaimer; the approximate error rate is between & percent.

Total Number of Offense Reports: 8: 7: 95 6: 94 Note: Due to an increase in activity starting in 8, Injuring or Tampering w/ MV was tracked the last 6 months of the year only In a 4 hour period the busiest hour for calls for service (89) was between 5 pm and 6 pm. The second busiest hour for calls for service (857) was between 4 pm and 5 pm. The busiest day for calls for service (46) was Friday. The second busiest day (7) was Wednesday.
