Learn to format cells, columns and rows, use functions and formulas for calculations, and build a graph for data display. Duplicate and rename worksheets for multiple months. Learn to create return address labels and use Mail Merge to create recipient address labels and form letters. Tutoring is more effective and efficient with customized lessons. This fun class gets you started speaking, reading and understanding Italian. Class includes insights into the Italian culture, regions and history. Instructor Patricia Pendray has a BA in Spanish and Italian from the University of Utah and has been teaching languages for over 17 years. Join the experienced artists at Red Flower Studios to make an blown glass ornament and one of the following; Breath-Out Breath-in Bowl, Splash, Large Orb or Prayer Bowl. All class sessions meet one Monday in 30-minute sessions between 11:00 am -2:00pm or 5:00 8:00pm at Red Flower Studios located at 1755 Bonanza Drive Unit C. Cost is $75 per 30 minute session. Mon. Nov. 12, 19, 26 or Dec. 3 Daniel Bell of Red Flower Studios Knitting with Pat Ronneburg (Ages 15 & Up) These are not your Grandma s knitting classes. Discover why knitting is as therapeutic as chocolate and wine. The schedule covers beginning to intermediate levels. The instructor is Pat Ronneburg, who learned to knit when she was seven years old and is an award winning knitter and designer. Knit a sweater, cap or scarf for a stuffed animal that will be donated to local law enforcement. Oct. 6 10:00am - 2:00pm PCHS $35 Beginning Knitting Earn your learner s permit to knit and enjoy a relaxing and productive new hobby. This class is for those who have never knitted or need a refresher. Topics include all the tools necessary to make scarves, hats and sweaters. Please note that class fees do not include any supplies. All materials can be purchased the first night of class and will be around $20. Mon. Oct :00-8:30pm PCHS $75 Knit a Beanie Hat Knit a beanie and add your own flair to top off many winter looks. Beanies are functional, cute and a hot trend too! Your only prerequisite is that you know how to knit and purl. Techniques taught:, knit in the round, ribbing, joining, cables and decreases and finishing. Check out our new patterns this year that have more intricate cable patterns! 7 L e i s u r e & M o r e National Safety Council CPR / AED The National Safety Council CPR/AED course prepares you to be an emergency responder for choking, breathing and cardiac emergencies. This course covers basic life support for adults, children and infants, as well as proper AED use. Two-year certification. Tue. Oct. 30 6:00-9:00pm PCAC $39 National Safety Council First Aid The National Safety Council First Aid course trains you on bleeding control, injuries, wound care, burns, poisons, and sudden illness. Recognize everyday emergency situations and take appropriate action until professional help arrives. Two-year certification. Thur. Nov. 1 6:00-9:00pm PCAC $39 Utah Rider Ed Basic Rider Course (Ages 16 & Up with valid driver license) This is the best place to start after you ve made the decision to ride, or if you are returning to riding after a long absence. Learn the basics of operating a motorcycle and safety-oriented mental strategies. Motorcycles and helmets are provided for your use. Included are three hours of online classroom instruction and up to ten hours of hands-on riding exercises in a positive and safe environment. Successful completion of this course will waive riding test for Utah Driver License Division. This course takes 1.5 days. Please plan on attending both Saturday 8:00am-6:00pm and Sunday 8:00am-1:00pm. Class size is limited to 10. For more information and to register go to utahridered.com. Cost is $200. Sat. & Sun. Sept Page 7 Reiki 1 st Degree Practitioner Learn to channel Reiki Energy, a light touch therapy from Japan. Reiki Level One begins with an initial attunement process. This process opens you to the Reiki Healing Energy. Once you are attuned to Reiki you can channel the Reiki Energy (Universal Life Force) energy into your physical body and then transfer this energy to others. The energy enters through the crown chakra. It then goes to the heart chakra and out through your hands, via the palm chakras. You receive a Reiki Level One Practitioner certificate after completion. The instructor is Crystal Sacco who has been teaching all levels of Reiki to students for over 6 years. This class pairs well with Reiki 2 nd Degree Practitioner class offered in the afternoon. Sat. Oct. 27 9:00am - 12:00pm PCHS $39 Reiki 2 nd Degree Practitioner Gain the tools for self-empowerment, deeper mindfulness and a stronger connection to our essence. Learn the three powerful healing symbols (Empowerment, Mental/Emotional and Distance/Absent) that support healing, calmness and clarity for yourself and others. Reiki 2 nd level is best for offering healing to those that you cannot touch using the Distant/Absent symbol. You receive a Reiki Level Two Practitioner certificate after completion. Oct. 27 1:00-4:00pm PCHS $39 Reiki Master Reiki Master training is for those who have completed Reiki 2 nd Degree Practitioner and feel ready to continue with their education and growth. The Reiki Master Level is traditionally considered the teacher's level, a practitioner who has received the energy and knowledge to attune new Reiki practitioners.
