1 Experiment Background: You have read the book Going Green. It discusses acid rain and how fossil fuels cause this environmental problem. You completed the Acid Rain and Plants experiment last week. Today you will be developing, in your cooperative group, an experiment that investigates the acid rain effects on metal and stone (buildings and monuments). It should take ten day to see final results. Materials: The following materials will be made available to you. 6 cups or jars distilled water white vinegar lemon juice measuring cups stirring spoon lab notebook for recording daily scientific process form 2 clean copper pennies (dated before 1993) plastic wrap pieces of marble pieces of limestone Lab Instructions: You and your cooperative group need to create the lab instructions for this lab. Use the attached form. Make sure you look at the cooperative group work evaluation so you know how your group work will be assessed. Criteria: 1. All containers should be labeled correctly. 2. Developed a step-by-step plan for the experiment. 3. Lab Questions are correctly answered. 4. Lab is correctly conducted based on original plan weeks of observations should be recorded in the lab notebook. 6. The Scientific Process Form is completed. 7. The Results and Conclusions sections of the Scientific Process Form should show conclusions drawn from the results, and conclusions should show ideas of how acid rain affects our world and how we live.
