3 Classroom Expectations Students are expected to come to class with all required materials and assigned work. An important part of being a sixth grader is taking the responsibility for yourself and having what you need. Each day in class, students should have: * Pencils and pens * Notebook or lined papers * A "Social Studies" folder *A great attitude for learning!

4 Classroom Expectations, Cont'd Absence: When students are absent, they are responsible for making up any missed work upon their return. Students have up to one work to complete any missed work once they are back at school. Homework: Homework is an important part of a student's responsibilities. The amount of homework varies depending on what is happening in class. Night back: Thursday

5 Classroom Expectation, Cont'd Assessment: During the school year, students will have many opportunities to demonstrate their learning through assessments. At the end of each quarter, students will be taking the Quarterly Assessment based on each quarter's theme of study. The assessment results will be used to determine students' strengths and weaknesses. Assessing student learning helps the students know what they are doing well and what skills need improvement.

6 Grading Policy 50%: Tests and Projects 30%: Quizzes, Classwork 10%: Formal Writing 10%: Homework/Class Participation

7 HAC/TAC Home Access Center-Make sure to sign up for HAC at the office. Parents will be able to have access to their child's grades from all classes once signed in Your child's grade in each class fluactuates depending on when the teacher puts them into TAC
